Hello Everyone,

I was originally planning a trip for a friend and I, but our dates didn't mesh. So now Mom (63) and I (22) are taking a relaxing girls weekend. We'll be staying at GF March 4-7. We will not be visiting the parks...just enjoying the resort and the food! I'd appreciate your opinion on the ressies I've made. We're splurging on the DxDDP, so we'd like to get the most out of it, without killing ourselves. We'll have a car, making it easier to travel between resorts. So on to the ressies...

Friday, 3/4

Lunch: GF Cafe

Dinner: Captain's Grille

Saturday 3/5

Breakfast: Kona Cafe

Lunch: Garden Tea Room-is it worth making a lunch out of this? I know we can't use the DxDDP. Wondering if we might want to switch one of our breakfasts for a lunch and move tea to an afternoon snack. But with the DxDDP, we'll we even be hungry for a snack? Hmmm....

Dinner: Jiko

Sunday 3/6

Breakfast: GF Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, or Cape May Cafe. I really need your opinion here guys!

Lunch: Kona Cafe

Dinner: Ohana-I haven't been able to secure a ressie yet, but hopefully someone will cancel. We can always move one of our other dinners, if we can get Friday or Saturday. If we can't get Ohana, we'll cancel the morning's breakfast and use the credits to go to Flying Fish for dinner. Really hoping for Ohana though.

Monday, 3/7

Breakfast-We'll use our snack credits for pastries. Yum!

Lunch-Sanaa. One of our very favorites!!! I can't wait

I know the best use of the DxDDP is for dinner, but we've got to pick the puppies up at the kennel, so we won't be staying for dinner on Monday:(

I'd really appreciate your opinions!!!

I really like the breakfast at Cape May. You're getting lots of GF time and monorail area time, go enjoy the Crescent Lake area that morning.

Lunch: GF Cafe - Have not been for lunch but breakfast and dinner were excellent so I suppose lunch would be too!

Dinner: Captain's Grille - So far we have done this one time and it was fantastic...

Breakfast: Kona Cafe - Awesome choice!

Hmmm.... - This is totally worth it to me...so relaxing and lots of fun!

Dinner: Jiko - Loved it the first time, didnt like it the second time...would much rather go to Citricos!

Breakfast: GF Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, or Cape May Cafe. I really need your opinion here guys! - Did 1900 PF for breakfast and dinner and both meals the food was gross and the service was nonexistant! The noise level and the chaos had me running for the door. Cape May is sooooo much better in terms of food, atmosphere and characters!

Lunch: Kona Cafe - This was the highlight meal of our Nov 09 trip...the place was empty and sooo quiet. DH had the lunch plate and it was the most delish thing ever, I wish I ordered it. The chicken with the rice and the macaroni salad..it was to die for. I had the steak teriyaki salad bowl and that was awesome too but DH had the better meal.

- Go to FF...it is a million times better. Ohana is too loud and overrated and the long wait isnt worth the so so food.

Alright, so we've made a few changes:

Friday
Lunch: Kona Cafe
Dinner: Captain's Grille

Saturday
Breakfast: Kona
Lunch: Turf Club, then maybe some DTd Time. It's close, right?
Dinner: Jiko

Sunday
Breakfast: QS
Lunch: GF Cafe
Snack: Garden View Tea Room
Dinner: Ohana-yay I got a ressie!

Monday
breakfast: QS
Lunch: Sanaa

We'd love to try FF, but we've never done Ohana and really want to try it this trip. Same for Jiko. We could trade it out for Captain's Grille, but I've read their food is as good as a signature, but for only 1 credit. We might do FF another time. We decided to give up the other breakfast because neither of us can eat eggs and it just isn't worth the credit if you can't get the fancy egg dishes. I'm pretty excited about the Tonga Toast at Kona though!!!

Question: What's the easiest way for us to get to Captain's Grille from GF. I've heard it's tough to get a parking space once you've moved your car-or is that only for visitors and not guests of GF?

:love:Cape May is wonderful. Our reservation was for 10 am and the food was so fresh. They also have a large variety. And price is reasonable for a character breakfast. This is a new favorite and a must repeat.
