Need your imput on auto dvd players...

Look what was in my Sears newspaper ad today.

If you didn't see the ad, the picture in the paper shows the carrying bag and headphones, too! So cool! Now I'm trying to dream up excuses to go get one (since we already have a DVD for the car!) I know....this one has battery power so you can use it on the plane, but ours doesn't.....now only if I had somewhere I had to fly to!

What is a ratchet strap?
What size tv does it fit on?
I have a midsize car, a toyota avalon.
Can I purchase a tv with the dvd and use the ratchet strap?

Well we went with a flip down model that installed in my navigator, it impacted the rear air a little, but I have had it for a year plus now, and it was worth EVERY PENNY, we spent about 1K on it which includes the monitor, install, dvd player with remote, and 2 wireless head sets. We drove it to Orlando from Ohio once, and from Ohio to Oklahoma once.

My wife drives 4 hours each way to go see her parents and goes there everyime I'm out of town, which is a lot, I use for trips of 30 minutes or more, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON SILENCE, and the every 5-10 minute outburst of laughter followed by "he FUNNY"!

I would also reccomend satellite radio, you can get a sweet no installation needed kit right now from BEST BUY, for either xm or serrius, I have xm, and it is awesome, My wife and I can listen to whatever we want alll the way accross the country, like comedy or top 20, with no interuptions, (have you every tried to get a ratiod station in west virginia, they have 2 kinds of music (3 stations) COUNTRY & WESTERN) LOL

even better than that try getting a cell signal there!

I am so confused?
How does it fit on the tv and what part of the car does it strap to?
I want this to fit between the front two seats so the kids can watch from the back.

Thanks for your post! We've been actively looking for a portable DVD (7 in) for our Dec trip. I kept telling my DH, "I WILL find one for under $200!" Lol!

Thanks for the compliment on my little princess, I love XM and the sound in the headphones is great, since xm is fm modulated and the dvd player is fm modulated so they interfere with each other, so I leave the xm modulated and the dvd player unmodulated which means it just runs through the head phones.

I would honestly say that both are some of the best purchases, I have made in the last 2 years, expecially mobile video!
