Need your help with strollers

We are going to Disney in September. I need help on what kind of stroller to bring. My son is 3 years old and my daughter will be 7 months. I would like to take two lightweight strollers that recline. I have heard great things about the Maclaren but it is a bit out of our price range. Does anyone have any suggestions or favorites? Any info would greatly be appreciated!

Check out the Chicco strollers. We have one that is lightweight and folds up like an umbrella stroller, it has a shade on top and a small basket on the bottom. We've used it at Disney for 4 years. I think I paid $65 for it from Amazon.com

Disney is selling strollers now, too. I checked the rack at Epcot yesterday and saw that they have red and black strollers by Kolcraft. They reclined, had a sunshade, and a small storage bag on the back. They were $40, which I thought was a pretty convenient deal!

Did you want two separate strollers? If you wanted a side by side, there is a Jeep one at BRU that is inexpensive, lightweight, and folds up like an umbrella. Also has mesh backs so the kiddo's won't get too sweaty.
I have a 4 year old and to-be 11 month old, and they both fit great, stoller is easy to steer.
I highly recommend getting the Ray Shade though, unbrella strollers have terrible canopies and the ray shade will protect them so much better!

We too looked at the Chicco and it seemed great - we were about to buy it but read a bunch of reviews on line about the bars that make up the back of the stroller seat bending. We went back to BRU and sure enough, even the display one had "sway back"! We ended up getting the Graco Mosaic before our Disney trip and we love it - it is lightweight (not as lightweight as some though) and has a high handle which we need. It wasn't too expensive and I have seen a newer version with mesh bags on the side (inside the seat) to put some kid stuff.

We have a Chicco stroller that we got specifically for our first trip with our oldest daughter. We've taken it ever since and it's proved to be my favorite stroller at home. We have a Peg and I never use it because this one is so light, compact and easy to use. I can't say enough about it. Hope this helps.

Sometimes you can get a previous years model for a good deal. You might try checking that out. I wouldn't get a Chicco Capri or Caddy unless you're on the shorter side. DH (6'2") and I (5'6") bought one and it barely got used. We found that we were having to hunch over just a little bit to push it, kicking the back wheels, and those things get annoying after a short period of time. I found a Kidco LS2000 on ebay and that is the stroller we have used in the parks. Overall, it's held up pretty well and ds who is now four and in the 90th percent for height still fits in it comfortably.

I know that you said that the maclarens are out of your price range, but if you could possibly swing it, it will be the last stroller you will need to purchase. I NEVER though I would spend that much for a stroller, but I splurged for a disney trip when my oldest was 3-1/2 and my second was 13 months. I bought a maclaren for my oldest and a cheaper lightweight baby trend ($40) for my 13mth old. The great thing about the maclarens is that you can use them for children up to 55 pounds! They work great for taller kids too. My 7 year old can actually still fit in mine and she is tall for her age (95%-ile for height). My only regret was not purchasing it sooner. I went through a few strollers before discovering the macs. Most lightweight strollers are only good for 35 - 40 pounds and only for shorter kids. You can find some decent deals on maclarens if you search around. They have actually come down in price since I purchased mine. My mac will be making it's fifth trip to disney this summer for my third child to use (she's 2 -1/2). The great thing is, that at the end of the day when the kids are all exhausted, I can still put my 5 yr old in the stroller (or even my 7 yr old!) when we leave the park, and carry my 2 yr old. It's much easier to carry a sleeping toddler than a sleeping 5 yr old!
