We are staying at BWV and need to find out the ME route from MCO to find out if BWV is the first or only stop.:woohoo:
Can anyone here help us?
Thanks

More than likely, you will not be the only stop. I would guess you will also have BC and YC guests as well. Not sure which order though.

It's been my experience that the bus routes change, but I'm not sure how often they change. I know when I went in 2007, POFQ and POR shared a route, but when I took the ME to POR in 2009, POFQ wasn't combined with our bus. It seemed strange since they are sister resorts.

There is no route. It all depends on what resorts the people are going to that are on the bus, you can have any resort on the bus with you.

It's been different everytime we've taken it. I wouldn't count on being the only stop though. It doesn't really matter, if it stops somewhere else it's pretty quick and you're on your way again.

I routinely go to BWV...it has been, the last three times, the second stop..after POR/FQ. But, there wasn't anyone going to FQ, so no stop there. Then, it goes on to YC/BC and maybe one other resort at the end, not sure though.
It takes about an average of 70 mins, from gate to resort. But, don't rely on that info. I've been on the BW DME bus and it has stopped at the Swan, YC/BC, then to BW and on to CBR!! Yes, I did indeed say the Swan...must have been some cruisers staying there. But, those routes do change..nothing is etched in stone.

It's never the same route. You could be first or last. There is no way of knowing.

There is no way to know ahead of time. While I agree with the Magical part of Magical Express, usually the Express part is a bit over-stated. Another poster here said it really is Magical Eventually. Sometimes it is fast, and sometimes you get the short end and are the last stop.

I'm hoping you are not asking because you have something planned for right after you arrive in Orlando. With airline delays, and the unknown of how long it will take you to get to your resort and checked in, it is not the best idea to have anything important planned for arrival day.

Nothing planned... just want to get to the parks!!!
I always take the first flight out so I can maximize our first park day but this is our first time using ME to BWV.
Thanks for all the replies

We are arriving with 5 of us in a couple weeks. We have a mini van reserved and right now we plan to pick it up at the Dolphin. We have quite a bit of luggage including a trunk for one of the dd's who will be going straight to camp for the summer (a counselor) and has to bring all her summer stuff. When we made the reservation we thought it would be fun for the kids (never ridden ME before) to take the Disney bus to the resort and would also be much easier than collecting all the luggage and getting it to the rental car place at the airport and then loaded up. This way it would just all "end up" in our room and we would have a relaxing ride to the resort, skip the toll fees, etc.

We do not plan to go to the park the first day so we are thinking that when we arrive at the resort (POR) I will go with the kids and check in to the room then ride the boat to downtown Disney. DH will hop the first bus to a park or TTC and catch a bus to Dolphin, pick up the car and meet us at DTD.

It sounds like a good plan to me...but then it occurred to me that maybe someone here had some advice that would help us. The last I checked, the rental fee was the same at the airport as at the Dolphin (which surprised me) but we would save the small bit of toll fees if we pick it up at the Dolphin. Since the price is about the same...which do you think would be a better plan?

Uugghh...so sorry. I thought I was posting a new thread. (Rookie!) I will repost this as a new thread.

Personally, I'd have your DH pick up the car at the airport and letting the rest of you ride ME (thereby letting them manage the luggage). Then he can stop at a grocery store to purchase some wine, beer, sodas, waters, etc. before proceeding to your resort.

We wanted to pick up our car at the swan/dolphin but the price was a lot more for our rental car that way almost $200 more. If you can get it for the same price I would do it the way your doing it:thumbsup2

Hmm, that's strange. I haven't been since '07, and I stayed at POR and the bus also stopped at OKW, SSR and POFQ. It seems kind of strange that a bus that would stop at the Epcot resorts would also stop at the DTD resorts. I will say though that even though POR was the last stop, I felt that the other stops were very quick and I didn't mind getting to see the other resorts.

Kind of off topic so sorry in advance! Is the route that DME takes from MCO to Disney the best route when driving on your own? Is so what is the actual directions? If not what is your recommendation?

As far as getting on 417 (tollway) to get to WDW ... yes, it is the best route. There are a couple of exits for WDW off the tollway, so the best would depend upon which resort you were at.

We use 417 all the time for going to the grocery and for church (believe it is exit 10, John Young Parkway).

Can't tell you how shocked I was when I found that we were on the same bus with the POR guests!!! That had never happened. This was about two years or so ago. I figured it was going to take forever to get to BW, but I was really wrong. The way the bus went it is only a short drive from POR to BW..who knew?!
Not sure if that is the case now, or not, but that was the case in Dec '08, April '09 and Aug '09. We'll see what happens this coming August!!

I know that Mears operates the Magical Express. I have to wonder if people staying at the Swalphin just pay Mears and instead of using separate shuttles, they're just taken by way of Magical Express busses.

This is funny. I have been coming down the week after Thanksgiving since 2000. (Has it been that long?)

I used to arrive Sunday, but missed that extra day when I came home after 12 days of vacation, 8 of them at Disney.

I switched to Saturday several years ago, after I heard a statistic that 2/3 of the people from T-giving week actually check out on Saturday to get the extra day at home.

Since I have switched to Saturday, boy what a difference. I stay at POR, except a diversion to SSR last year. They not only don't even wait for a bus to fill up, you never know where the stops are going to be and how many. I have had more combinations then I care to count. They are just so focused on getting as many buses to the resorts on that day, getting back to MCO and turning right around and going back.

I have been with Epcot resorts, DTD resorts, etc.

The only thing that has been for sure is that we are always going to POFQ too.
