Ok so my sister now wants to come with us but DH doesnt want to share a room with her and her girls....so what should I do? Would it be better to get a 2 bedroom villa? Do these units have 2 bathrooms???

Originally we were going to stay at a Garden view in the Poly, do they have adjoining rooms? Would it be cheaper to do 2 rooms at the Poly or a single 2 bed villa at the Beach Club? Any help and suggestions would be great.

I don't know about cheaper, but all the 2br villas have 2 bathrooms.

Adjoining rooms means that the rooms are next to each other. Connecting doors indicates a door between the two rooms. In your situation though, I'd ask for adjoining. More privacy for two families.

But there are many rooms with connecting doors at the Polynesian.

How about the ASMu family suites? Really did not want to stay there but that seems like another inexpensive option...any feedback would be helpful

I think the family suites have only one bathroom. No, just checked...there are two full bathrooms in the family suites according to allears. That might work well but wouldn't afford as much privacy IMO. It sounds as if your DH is concerned about that.

If you're looking for the cheapest route, how about two adjoining rooms at the values?

Two rooms at the Polynesian would be wonderful if both families can swing it.

A two bedroom villa would give you two bathrooms, a full kitchen and living room, washer/dryer. The living room has a sleep sofa. Master has a king and the bathroom in it is divided and quite large...jacuzzi too. Most second bedrooms at BCV have a queen bed and sleep sofa. 25 have 2 queens in the 2nd BR but must be booked that way.

The Family Suites start at $184 a night duing value season.
Most of the Disney resorts (excluding DVC) charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
The Family Suites do not charge extra for extra adults.
1-6 adults can stay in the Family Suites for the same set price.
The Family Suites have discounts available also so if you keep your eyes open you just may snag a great deal.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Info thread--Pullouts in Family Suites at ASMU with photos of how the pullout is supported.

Here is the layout of the Family Suites:

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

We are trying out a 2br @okw in august--definately not cheap, but it will be worth it to have the extra room!:)

I like the 2 bedrooms at OKW. They are huge and you can get the second bedroom as a lockoff, even more privacy. The second bedroom will have 2 queens and there is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. With the key west them it is probably the closest to the Poly theme as you will get. It is cheaper then the other dvc resorts and cheaper yet if you rent points from a dvc member.

I think DHs biggest concern it the bathrooms, he doesnt mind if my sister is in the next room so a suite would be ok but he wants a 2 bath place. I think I am just going to try and help her out with the Poly....but January is still a long ways off so she might change her mind and not come with us.

Then let her know you're at the Poly and give her the phone number. Let her know to request adjoining rooms with you; if and when she books you can add that request to your reservation.

That way your plans don't take a hit if she changes her mind.

We love the two bedroom villas - they are essentially two complete hotel rooms with a living room and kitchen in the middle. They also cost about the same as two hotel rooms in their sister resort. The best part is that you have your privacy, three tvs (one for the kids), a kitchen for sodas, bottles of water and snacks, and a place to hang out in the middle. If I were you I would look at the Beach Club or the Boardwalk.

I agree with Alice. Don't change your plans on a thought. Because if she bails, then you'll be at a place you didn't want to be to begin with. Tell her to book her room now and start the payments. We love that option about Disney.

Jr suite at CSR or connecting rooms. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Personally, I'd go for two rooms either connecting or adjoining in any Disney resort. Each family would have their own bathroom and their own privacy at night and in the morning. And each family could be as messy or as clean as they wanted in their own room.

That is what I want to do but my sister is a single mother and cannot afford the Poly, that is why we take the kids to WDW...because she cannot financially. So my DH decided to help her out and pay for the extra room but she has to pay for her ticket and pitch in for food. When DH married me he married my entire family! What a guy!

Most of the year a two bedroom at the Beach Club works out a little cheaper than two rooms at the Poly. Two things to think about: if you rent points from a DVC member you can save a lot on the two bedroom if one is available; and if an annual pass discount comes available for the dates that you are traveling you can save up to 40%. Another thing to consider would be the Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary or the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

An example of what you could pay for a two bedroom during the DVC's Adventure (value) season at $11/pt would average $424/nt. if you stayed for a week, less if you stay only covers Sun. - Thurs. nights. Rental charges usually run $10 - $13 a point.
