I have been to WDW too many times to count, but I have a friend who is in his thirties who is going for the very first time this August.

He will be going with his new wife and her parents and his two kids from his previous marriage. The kids (both boys) are 6 and 8 and they (the kids) have been to WDW twice with his ex-wife. They will NOT be staying on property.

I have been trying to come up with a "Tip of the Day" each day for him. What are some of your BEST tips?

I have already shared with him the importance of going LEFT in the parks as it tends to be less crowded that way. I have also talked with him about Fastpass and character meals.

Any tips you think are important to share are welcome!

Thanks!!

Don't Rush out of the Magic Kingdom after Wishes. You will end up standing at a bus stop with 300 other people to get squished on a bus with 300 other people. The shops are open for an hour after the park closes... take your time, stop at the bakery to get a snack, relax. If you wait until the masses have cleared, you will have a much happier ride back to your hotel.

Look up. There's lots of stuff you'll miss in terms of theming in both resorts and attractions if you don't remember to look up, too. My dh went through the haunted mansion 4 times, and didn't know about the body in the stretching room until I told him about it.

Since your friend is going in August, it's important to stay hydrated in the heat. If you want something more refreshing besides just water, Crystal Light makes lemonaid that comes in a sleeve that is just enough for a bottle of water. You pour it in, shake it up and you have instant lemonaid...which is really good. You can get them in aisle of the grocery store where you get the juice. :drinking1

Buy rain ponchos from the dollar store, or even Target or Walmart. :umbrella: :umbrella: They are cheaper and you can get them in bright colors so you can easily spot one another in a crowd.

When eating ice cream, use a lid to a kids drink, the kind with an x for the straw. Turn it over and put the stick through the x, it will catch all the drippings. :mickeybar

Take a shoe organizer that hangs up....you can use this to organize bathroom items, i.e. tooth brushes, tooth paste, razers, hair products..etc. This will keep the counter to your vanity free to clutter and your stuff easier to find. :cool1:

This are just a few that I can think of....if I remember more, I will let you know. :cheer2: :cheer2:

When the kids get tired and hot from walking just hop on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. There usually isn't a line....it will cool everyone off and takes about 10 minutes. My kids like to do this when they are tired of walking and they like it because they are still on a "ride".

Also....hop on the monorail and head over to one of the resorts for a snack or ice cream. They will be much quieter than Magic Kingdom and the monorail is always fun for the kids.
