We're leaving for Disney World in about a week and I wanted to buy a few inexpensive little gifts (so they will fit in the suitcase) for my children. Two girls (8+) and a boy (toddler)

I would love your ideas on dollar store goodies, Amazon (got prime and should have it before we leave), or Walmart/Target Disney items I could get for them.

I'm not looking to spend much - maybe up to 5 or 6 dollars a gift. I thought I would put them on their pillows so they could find them at the end of the day.

Thank you for your help. We're going to Disney for the first time.

(Also, do you know any inexpensive shops to pick up Disney items while we are there?)

Glow or light up toys/bracelets.

Crayons/Pencil Crayons with Disney characters and a coloring book

Disney Journal-The older two can write in one each day and tell what they did. I gave my cousins one each in 1999 and my sister and I also did one. It was fun comparing what we each wrote.

Misting Fans-I think Wal-Mart or Target might carry them.

Stickers

Scrapbook-Disney if available, otherwise they can add stickers to the front/inside to make it Disney.

You can buy Penny Press Books and Pin Trading kids on eBay or the Disney Store. I like the idea of bring usable things so we're bringing them some cool Disney PJ's (my kids LOVE a good set of PJ's). I'd bring some of their favorite snacks and you can Disney-fy them with some bag toppers or wrappers from the Creative DISigns board.

I love the idea of glow sticks too!!!

my ds is still a toddler, but i brought a glow stick with an on off switch (kinda like a mini ligh saber) from walgreens. His was easter themed, but walgreens always seems to have disney seasonal merchandise. I was hoping it would keep him entertained waiting for nighttime parades, etc and it worked great. Batteries lasted the whole trip and it was only $2 or $3. You might also want to do something like a $5 or$10 disney gift card for each mid way thru the trip so they can buy something for themselves if they aren't already brining money.

Dollar tree has tons of Disney princess stuff-- stickers, puzzles, mirror/comb sets, coloring books, etc, and sometimes they have the little plastic tiaras, but my girls are constantly breaking those...

Target had Cars 3 markers in their dollar spot the other day

We try to stick with useful souvenirs too, like some of the PPs, so we do PJs, sippy cups, sunglasses, that sort of thing.

You can get the glow bracelets 15/1 at Michael's, Dollar tree only has the giant necklaces around here.

I agree with all of the above suggestions. You can also check out the CreativeDis. thread. Those ladies/gents ROCK! You can make personalized t-shirts for less than $3.00 each. You can also print your own journals, autograph pages from the same thread.

I recently purchased packages glow necklaces/bracelets from the $1 section at Target. I've seen some amazingly good deals (ie large plushes for $3) at our local Disney Store.

I was in Walgreens and saw Disney magazines that I got for my nieces...one was Princesses and one was Tinkerbell...they were $4.99 each and had stories, puzzles, etc. Those might be good for your girls!
Have a great trip! :)

I generally find small items from the dollar store or the dollar bin at Target that Tinkerbelle leaves in different places in the room. Sometimes, she leaves quarters and a pennie for the pressed penny machine, and she also has left a $5 bill for a mickey head ice cream treat. Kids love to look every morning and a great way to start off the day.

I'd go to walmart to buy disney tshirts or pj's.

I'd go to Michaels' to buy little glow bracelets and things from their $1 racks.

I'd go to Target to buy little things from their $1 spot too.

edited to say: walmart has disney fruit snacks

Dollar Tree - coloring books(they had one with Mickey on them)
the glow sticks -- a few other toys that had Disney stuff on them too

rain ponchos too
maybe a water bottle (add Disney stickers)

We have been building a collection of small gifts for our 2 girls for a few months now...mostly found at Dollar Tree. We will most likely call them "Tinkerbelle Treasures" and we'll either leave them out over night (Santa style) or DH will put them out for them to find at the end of the day. Some things we got for each of them:

-Princess/Tinkerbelle lanyard (from Michaels...we'll pick up a cheap pin for each of them online to go with it)
-Toy Story Alien Kooky Pen (Dollar Tree...we'll get a small disney themed notebook to go with that)
-A small stuffed toy for each from Disney Store Clearance ($1.99)
-Princess/Winnie the Pooh Magic Towels (Dollar Tree)
-Princess/Mermaid swim goggles, splash disc and water wings (Dollar Tree)
-Set of 4 Mickey and Gang or Pooh figures (Dollar Tree)
-Halloween Silly Bands (we'll go during MNSSHP) (Walmart $1 Clearance)

Also planning on picking them each up a cute purse from Walmart for $5...saw cute denim ones w/Tink or Mickie and Minnie...or they had black ones with animated scenes on them like Lady and the Tramp, Bambi, Cinderella, etc. Our girls love purses and will keep some of the above in them.

I've also been picking up some inexpensive Disney themed toys for the plane (mostly from Dollar Tree)...things like books and puzzles (things that will be new to them that we won't mind losing).

Other ideas (some cheap, some more costly): Disney themed Tshirts or Bathing Suits (found at Disney Store or Walmart), Disney Crocs, character themed lip balms, jewelry, hats, watches, light up toys (spinning or otherwise), glow sticks.

Gathering this stuff has been part of the fun for me! Good luck!
:)

I don't know if you live close to a disney store or not, but the Twice Upon a Year sale started yesterday, and they do have some great little small toys for $4.99 and under - I saw "magic towels" (washcloths) for 99 cents, mini stuffed animals for $4.99, and water guns, princess bracelet & necklace sets, etc all for under $10.

I also get the glow bracelets at either Michael's or Target for $1. I saw cars 2merchandise in the $1 section at target this past Friday. Target usually has some cute princess hairbands or barrettes in the dollar section too. Sometimes you can find the disney stickers on mega-clearance at Michael's and Hallmark (I've found them for as little as 24 cents before at hallmark).

Hope you find lots of great disney goodies! Have a fantastic trip!

We left notes from certain characters and tried to match the note to the gift and if possible what we were doing that day.

So, on a MK day when we were going to meet Woody and Jessie Jessie left her a Jessie necklace. Cinderella left her some Cinderella pj's the day we went to Park Fare. The princesses gave her a light up wand when we were going to see the ELP. Stuff like that.

Other things she got were temporary tattoos and stickers, cheap plastic jewelery and other things that we found in the birthday section at Walmart.

I love to do the gifts for my kids too!

One thing my girls always enjoyed - I got them a disposable camera. (Walmart has a 3 pack for $10) They got to take pictures of whatever they wanted. It was really fun to see what they took pictures of. (One year, my daughter took a lot of pictures of the ducks and bunnies she saw around the parks)

I do the Disney PJs too, sunglasses, stickers, candy, glow sticks. Oh, and flip flops for walking down to the pool. Pool toys are fun to give too.

Just keep looking at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target, etc.

Have a great trip!!!!

Another great place to look for Disney items (especially books and stuffed toys) is either Goodwill or consignment shops. I visited a local consignment shop and got my DD a Flounder and Ariel stuffed toy (with the Disney Parks tag) for .99 a piece. They were in perfect condition and looked like they had never been touched. I also got some great hardback Disney-themed books at Goodwill for .49 a piece. No writing in them, torn pages, or anything. DD loves books, so we are giving her one of those each day.

We also got great Disney-themed items at Walmart after Valentine's Day. They didn't say anything about V-Day on them, so maybe there will be similair things after 4th of July?

We also got DD a light-up princess spinner at Walgreens (for Wishes) for $3.

We're getting DS (toddler) a Mr. Potato Head as his trip-gift. It's a smdige more than $7 at Target We think it's PERFECT since we think he'll like the TSM ride so much... and we can get all the fun Disney accessories while we're visiting! There are also severeal Cars and Toy Story items in Target's dollar bins right now. And this week, Cars toys are on sale at Target. Just check the sale ad. I think we'll probably pick up a car for DS... they're $3 instead of $5 right now!

Probably not what you are looking for but someone once pointed out they thought it was better to let them pick out one gift they really wanted at WDW than spend money on things that would not last long from the dollar store. It's their treasure so to speak. Just a thought.

I think this depends on the age. DS is 4 and he loves presents and will probably be asking everyday for something and if he knows there is something waiting for him back at the hotel that is good enough for him. If I let him pick his own everyday it would probably be $25-$30 item but I can do stuff at the room for like $5 a day and it will be stuff he will at least use that week.

But I think for older kids who can understand 1 big item or $25 or whatever that might work better.
