What is the best and most cost effective way for my DH and I to get for Orlando airport (is that the closest??) to the ship and back? We are going Sep 26,2004..it is just the two of us.
Thanks

For 2, the most cost effective way I know is DCL transfers. The b
"break even" point for a private limo is usually 3 people--less than 3, DCL is cheaper, more than 3, private limo is cheaper.

The DCL busses start running from the airport about 9:30 am (although they will tell you that they start at 10). They schedule the bus based on flight arrival times, but there is never more than a few minutes of waiting. Another advantage of the DCL transfers is that they will collect your luggage from the baggage area and deliver it to your stateroom on the ship. You walk off the plane to the bus--no need to deal with luggage at all.

If you are flying in the night before, you can get the same service by staying at the Hyatt at the airport. (the bus will leave from the Hyatt, which actually connects to the airport). If you choose to stay at another airport area hotel (which you can get for very little $ on Priceline), you will need to take the hotel's shuttle back to the airport to catch the DCL bus. In addition, you will collect your luggage at baggage check and deliver it the next morning to the DCL transport.

This is probably more info than you wanted.....sorry.

We sailed 1/17/04, family of 4, full size car from Budget. It was 26.00 1 way rental (drop off at Budget at the port) They'll take you to the port or any hotel for free. After cruise we hopped onto Budget shuttle and 1 way rental back to MCO for 44.00. All taxes and fees included in both prices.

For us the most cost effective was to rent a car. One way rentals but. You can usually get a discount code on walmart website to book your reservations with. The rental agencies shuttle you to the port and from the port back to their agency. I found that to be best when just two of us.

If you are flying in the Friday night (highly recommended) I agree with those that suggest the car rental - much more cost effective than DCL transfers plus you can make as many stops (pop, beer or any other items you forgot) as you wish. But, if you are getting in on Saturday morning I would almost say the buses - you would have a less hectic morning between your flights and getting to the port. Your decision.
