Hi I leave on Sun to Orlando!!!!!! I will spend 3 days at Daytona, then 5 days at Disney. If the hurricane passes, and the sun comes out, I plan to go to a water park, probably TL due to surf wave pool. What is the best tour plan for this park? I know it will be crowded since Labor Day Weekend. What about BB? My DD is 10 and a good swimmer and likes slides (she just went on the tallest one in Pgh, which I am too scared to go on--she is so prowd of herself!)

Really, the best advice is to get there early! Before opening. At TL (my favorite) we save the lazy river and the wave pool for after we have done the slides. Claim a nice spot, make sure you have on your sunscreen and go. Try them all. The shark reef is very cold, but it is more fun when it is not crowded because you get to take your time going across. I would do that after the big slides.

Have a great time and get there early! I didn't think we would stay more than a 1/2 day, but we were at TL from opening to closing. :sunny:

If you want a spot with a little shade, go early and run like mad when the rope drops. Then get on the "Lazy River" and hope to make it around before all the inner tubes are gone and teens start just jumping in on thier own and having water fights, etc.

Like the others have said, GO EARLY. If you're going to TL and you get there early, best advice is to go to Crush n Gusher first, then go to the back of the park and work your way back to the wave pool/entry. Get some seats and save them with towels and whatnot when you arrive, then head straight for CnG and the back of the park. As you work your way to the front, everyone else will be working their way to the back. Good luck!

On the other hand... if you can't face going that early, the other strategy, which sometimes pays off, is to go mid-afternoon - that's when a lot of folk are getting water logged and thinking about dinner.

I'm sending you a PM of our touring plans at the water parks. We have PAP and have found a way to handle the crowds. Mostly we go to BB, so I have that parks pattern more down pat.

Lovethattink, could you PM me as well? I would really appreciate it! :goodvibes

lovethattink - would you PM me the plan, too? DD and her SO will be hitting the water parks alone while we are there and I would love to send them off with some sage advice! :smooth:

Even better - if you're staying onsite, Typhoon Lagoon is having EMH on Saturday nights! I think the park is open until 10 for Disney Guests.

Lovethattink, could you PM me too. We are going to both BB and TL this Sept and any info will help. Thanks

Yes, we're excited about this. We're staying over Labor Day weekend and we'll be trying out the Saturday TL EMH!

Woody13, pm sent.

lovethattink - I sent you a PM - I'd love a copy of your touring plans, too!

I'd love to have touring plans for anything you have! We have 6 kids and my parents are going to-I think all ages will be hit. We leave Sept. 9th and this is one thing I haven't spent much time on. Does a touring plan make a big differance? Tammy

A touring plan only makes a big difference during the busy season. We've found that during Christmas and Easter the only way we were able to do all the slides was sticking to our plan. This July was pretty busy as well. We went for a few hours one day in the afternoon. There weren't enough tubes in the lazy river, but there were plenty of people in there. The lines for the slides were crazy.

Usually we go during the school year, after school. It's amazing then. We can cover all the stuff in a couple hours that would take twice as long during the busy season.

When you talk about during the school year after school are you talking the month of Sept. when we are going? Should it be pretty good going for rides and lines?

Is a 6 considered busy? Do you use your own touring plan or from www.touringplans.com or elsewhere?

If we make our own touring plan is that what you are saying makes a differance?

We've come up with our own plan, through trial and error. From our many visits, we've learned the traffic patterns at the water parks and what to avoid when. When I say we go after school, I'm referring to any time that is not a holiday week or spring break week.

Except for Labor Day weekend, the water parks should not be too crowded. We went last week and WDW was pretty empty. My husband remarked that the crowds made him think it was winter. A couple weeks ago, the crowds were a different story. Just keep in mind that we are still having a late afternoon thunder shower each day.
