I'm sooo frustrated! I had planned a quick trip to the world during the Food & Wine Festival early in November. Apparently no small thing to get the room as I see many posts on the board complaining that they can't get BWV in November.

Anyway, fourth quarter of the year is real tough on our family work-wise. Hubby teaches tax seminars to accountants fourth quarter and it is grueling. He teaches in Missouri for 6 days - which means teach from 8 am to 5 pm, pack up and drive anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to another town and do it again. About 3 days home, then it starts again in Oklahoma - Mon & Tues out, home Tues nite for laundry, out Wed evening to another town for Thurs & Friday seminar. For 10 weeks! He doesn't teach those full days, about half, but it's still a killer schedule. It's my busy season, also, so we barely see each other.

When we coordinated calendars, I realized that for this year there was actually a week between the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. I knew the break would be great, so I hit the phone and booked 3 days at Epcot. We've wanted to go to the Food & Wine Fest ever since it began, but the timing has always been wrong because of his schedule. Oh boy, Food & Wine fest, hubby and me ALONE(DS away at college next fall)and a well-deserved break. Wow, practically a 2nd honeymoon!

So, of course one of the organizations has called and says they just HAVE to move the seminar schedule by a week! I am so bummed! If they insist of course he has to change it, but I did suggest he tell them that things were NOT happy at home over it!! Rats, rats, RATS!!! :(

I'm sorry to hear that you had to cancel your vacation plans <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face">(. My hubby is a Director of Software Engineering for well...a software company and his schedule can at times be unpredictable. We were able to switch one ressie that we had and get a BWV preferred studio from Nov 10th-15. It wasn't our first choice of accomodation or week, but we made it work. We had also never been to Food and Wine Fest and it was just awesome!! Even if you don't get to go this year, there's always next year!! We did lots of the special dinners and a Grand Tasting and we just loved it. Keep trying and one of these years you'll get there!!

I'm sorry to hear that your vacation fell through :(. Maybe one of the other weeks will open up. Heck, since your son will be in college ... make reservations for another time and hope that next year is better. FWIW, I've been to the Food and Wine festival and the Garden festival (in May) and liked the Garden festival better. The Food Among the Flowers Mother's Day brunch was fantastic.
