Need to Vent

Ok nothing major to vent about but I am getting really frustrated with the whole wedding band situation. My E-ring is really unique in that next to the center stone there are 3 inverted princess cut stones on each side. I cannot find anything that matches this at all! They are either waaaayyy too wide[small fingers so I need a thinner band] and look odd next to my ring or there like an etched pave setting with just engraved kite shapes. I went looking at 8 different stores today and I ended up finding a pave band that is just a simple rounded band that looks nice if I put 1 on each side of the ring. I put them on hold and DF and I are going back tomorrow to look at them again, but i'm not sure if there the ones. I've seen a lot of other bands I like, but none of them look right next to mine. I'm getting to the point where I either want somthing that compliments my ring or i've contimplated changing E-ring bands altogether! I don't want to do this! I know some of you have harder to match E-rings.......what did you do? I really want to wear my E-ring and my wedding band together so the whole one on one hand one on the other won't work for me. Thanks guys!:goodvibes

Your ring sounds similar to mine...it have three princesses all set sideways (kites)....nothing matches so i feel your pain....after five months of searching DH caved and go me the ring of my dreams....a beautiful eternity band....it doesn’t line up at all (still have the space) but they complement each other nicely....

I almost went with a simple gold band that had a twisted braded look (more of a spiral)...it also didn’t line up but was thin and looked nice with the two very dramatic shapes...

Happy shopping….I’m sure you’ll find something that looks great

I'm having a similar problem, too. My fiance had my ring custom made, so the shape is pretty unique. I thought that pretty much any band would look good with it, but when we went shopping this weekend, nothing looked good! :confused3 We're going to have one custom made to match the engagement ring. Is that a possibility for you? If you have find a place to do that (for a reasonable price), I highly recommend it!

Good luck!

My e-ring had a funky "curved" setting. It was very pretty but wouldn't sit next to any "regular" band. And it wasn't part of a normal set so I had two choices...get a custom band cut to fit the e-ring, or have the e-ring re-set.

I ended up having the e-ring re-set (mine is just a heart shaped solitaire) in a beautiful gold Tiffany-style setting. It was easier when band shopping and I was able to get a band I love that works for both DH and me (matching bands).

For me, the most important part of the e-ring was the stone, not necessarily the setting so having it re-set was a little sad (funny how sentimental some things can become) but now it's two years later and I don't regret my decision at all.

Have you considered getting your band custom made? My e-ring was custom made and NOTHING would fit under it. The cost for a custom made ring wasn't too bad and it looks perfect. I got the custom done at a different store than the e-ring was made at and people dont' believe it isn't a set. (Going to go grab a picture)

Ok, here's my custom band. PM me if you have any questions.

Wow! That really is an incredible match phisigprincess! If I didn't know any better i'd say they were a purchased set!! I'm happy to say I found a band! It's not the two small filigree bands but one solid one. It has 32 small diamonds on it, 1 Ctw but it has filigree designs that make it match my E-ring! I'm so happy! It's not a perfect match but it matches well enough that both rings look like they could belong together! I actually saw a matched set today that looked like my ring except the kite shaped diamonds were gold filagree detailing and honestly it looked a little too "matchy matchy" if that makes any sense? lol Anyway thanks for all your support and encouragment!
