As most of you know cam had his op on his eye and its not healing brilliantly. Well for the last 12 days we have kept him in the house. Today I decided we were going shopping and as he is now out of pain he could come with me!! We got to sainsburys and cam said he didnt want to wear his sunglasses because they made his head hurt -I asked him to please put them on but he was having none of it !! I knew to make him hide behind them was a bad idea if i wanted to shop without a melt down so I agreed he could go with out them.
His eye is still really swollen and still has a stitch in it so have to be fair it does look horrendous but why do strangers feel the need to question me?? Really every few steps there was another person same accusing tone as the last one looking like we had battered him and wanting to know what had happened.
I would never dream of asking anyone so why do we constantly get hassle when we finally pluck up the courage to take him out??
By the time I got home I was furious but also in floods of tears - he has been through so much and he is so brave with it all why oh why can we not just go out shopping hassle free??
Its 1 instance where im gald he has aspergers because at least it doesnt upset him x
Vent over - not sure if it actually makes sense but hey its stopped me hitting someone :thumbsup2

You vent away, thats what we are here for, oh that and talking disney of course!

take a deep breath and give him a cuddle, then have a big glass of wine!

 I cannot believe some people.

I am shocked that people would be so nosey and insensitive.

I would never dream of asking a stanger ANY personal questions - I just don't get it? Why? What's it got to do with them? :confused3

If anyone else looks like they're accusing you you should say - "you think he looks bad - you should see what I did to my Parole Officer!" and walk off!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:
My hubby said I should be equally as rude but I just cant do it !!
Thing is I always feel guilty for putting him through it so when someone accusses me of it it kind of really touches a raw nerve even though they are miles away from the truth.

Thanks to everyone else for the cyber hugs heres one back just to say thanks :grouphug:

I know how you feel hun, i always get random nosy people ask me if i'm DD's mother because she is biracal and I'm white. I mean they try to assume ive kidnapped her or something. Some people just to mind there own business. Hope your DS gets better soon.

there are some truly insensitive, rude people about, hugs to you

Vent away, it is better to get it off your chest. I remember when DS fell off some equipment at nursery and some old people would pass me by either nudging each other or tutting as he was in a sling, I can laugh now but then I wanted to put a sign around his neck.
My nephew as aspergers and I know that can be difficult enough in itself. My SIL can't take him shopping at all.
Sending you
