Me and DW are going back home in October. We were planning to stay at POP. Then we found out that it wouldn't be that bad to stay at POFQ. If you were going to be there 6 nights and 7 days, which would you pick.... and why...

I haven't stayed at POFQ before, but did stay at POR. I have to say that I preferred POP to POR. I think it's because when I go to WDW I want to be inundated in that Disney feeling. POP just feels more Disney too me. If you feel that way too then POP is place for you. But, if you want Disney in the parks and a more typical vacation type atmosphere at the resort then POFQ sounds like it would work for you. It all depends on what kind of experience you're looking for.

Maybe since I have not stayed at POP i should not have answered...but I would chose POR ...
stayed there when it was Dixie Landings and I enjoy the relaxing resort feel......

The Boat you can take from there to Downtown Disney is great!
And I think they have a lounge with live music..(at least they did when I was there....)

(But my Favorite Moderate is CBR!!)

I would pick a moderate resort over a value just for the extra amenities.

My DW and I have never stayed at a Value Resort so I can't comment on them. But, we thoroughly enjoyed POFQ and look forward to returning one day. From photos I've seen, I would have to say it is themed much more nicely for adults than POP. It is well worth the extra money.

Absolutely! Especially going as 2 adults. I would think you'll enjoy the extra amenities.

My own feelings on staying at a value are only if it's the only way I can get to WDW. I stayed at ASSp once & it was ok for a commando trip if I brought earplugs & sleeping pills - very noisy. I loved the mederate we stayed at & would easily stay moderate again.

I've done both and like both. You could always split stay so you can try both.

Me too. I might do a value for a very short trip, but POFQ is a very nice resort, and has plenty of Disney feel. The boat to DTD is an added bonus. Plus you have POR's pools, restaurant, and food court available to you within a short boat ride or walk if you get bored with the ones at POFQ. pirate:

I'd choose POFQ. The moderates do have it over the values. The resort theme is nice and the food courts are great. The pools are generally better.

Have fun!

i selected pofq... why? well, the resort's smaller and the rooms bigger... also, you can walk over to a little nightlife (river roost lounge) or take a convenient bus to dtd...

that being said... we absolutely loved pop... could not find a bad word to say about it... so i am sure no matter which you choose, you'll have a great time!

I have stayed at pop twice, this time, I am staying at POFQ, we walked through it last time we were at pop, and it seemed nice, cozy, and very quiet. so I will be able to see what was better afterwards.. but already I like the styling for pofq better. (when not in the parks, I like the quietness/coziness).

Your choice is between my favorite Value resort and my favorite Moderate resort. IMO, you really can't go wrong! If you have the $$, then I would go with the moderate for the bigger rooms, nicer pool and hot tub. Plus, POFQ is very romantic :).

I would always choose a moderate over a value if $$ was not a big deal either way.

Last year was our first taste at value because it was either value for a longer trip or a shorter trip at moderate. We decided to stay 9 nights in a value.

The values were nice and we are going again this year to another one because it HAS to be a short inexpensive trip but I would always go with a moderate (or more) if you can.

Never been to FQ before, it will be our first time in October but Riverside was very nice. Pop was nice too but Riverside seemed more relaxed.

Having tried only one value resort (All Stars Sports), the mod wins. :earsboy:

Last August we stayed the POP and liked it. It was my DD8 first trip to WDW and I figured she would enjoy the POP which she did. I personally found it to be too big for my liking. There were a lot of kids running wild and I am a first grade teacher so I have a high tolerance for kids but not while I'm on holiday. The theming was cute and we spent a couple hours just wandering around looking at the icons.
This August we are going again but I booked the POFQ with an AP code and I am looking forward to the more intimate feel of this resort. I hope it lives up to my expectations. My daughter is looking forward to using both water slides since we can legally pool hope to POR.
Good luck with your choice! :flower:

: Thanx for the input guys. Keep it coming. I talked to DW and she said that it maybe alright to stay at the moderate. Since this is the last time I am told that I can go back for a while. But if we have a baby, then we can go back...but don't tell her that... :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We've only spent one night @ POP and that was enough. Wow, VERY LOUD and VERY CROWDED. We will be @ POFQ in AUG and are looking forward to a great stay. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:
