Need to research AKV......

I have my first contract underway and am crossing my fingers that all goes well! My home resort will be AKV. I want to learn as much as possible about the property and DVC. Can you point me in the right direction to learn about specific details about the rooms, views, options, etc? Also, can you request NOT to have a HZ room with MS when you book? Would love to hear your favorite things about AKV too! Thank you!

Just do a internet search and you will find all kinds of info, also do a search here on the DIS.

There have been reports of MS CM's not letting members request that they don't get assigned a HC room but it hasn't happened to me yet.

Thank you Bill. I don't want a HA room. I am hoping I learn all the in's and out's of booking before it is time to do it. I will keep searching the internet. It seems that some rooms really vary. I want to make sure I know what I am getting. Can't wait to go!

I thought that HZ might have been a typo for HC.

Once you are in the system as a member, the DVC website has info on the various resorts as well and you can do inventory look ups before you make your first reservation.

Just wanted to add that my family LOVES AKV-Kidani. It is our home resort and we have stayed there twice as a family in a 1 br, and I just got back from a 5 night stay in a studio with my sister. We are not picky on room location or views, so we're pretty easy to please! I would suggest a room close to the lobby though because the hallways ARE long, and I do prefer the side of the resort closer to the pool (near Rafiki elevator). AK is a beautiful, peaceful resort. Hope you enjoy it too!
