Need to make $1000 in 10 months... ideas

Most unique Disney fund raiser I ever heard of, from a woman in the hot tub at a Disney resort. She read an article online and found she could fund her entire Disney trip by having her husband stop
at the local sperm bank on his way home a few times a week, 1800.00 a month she said...... She seemed pretty proud of herself for the idea.

Oh my........ That may take the cake for most dedicated Disney fan....

Have you tried a flyer delivery route? Pop the kids in a wagon and deliver flyers door to door. I had a friend who used to deliver newspapers on a rural route in Alberta. She’d have to do it really early, so she’d load her sleeping babes in their pajamas into their car seats, then throw newspapers out the truck window onto the driveways. Then she’d be in time for them to wake up and make breakfast. We’ve also used Kijiji quite a bit to clean out things we weren’t using, and the things that sold best were kid and baby stuff as well as craft supplies (I had tons of Stampin’ Up supplies I was never using). Good luck! Keep us posted if you find something great that works!

I've been selling items locally on Facebook's Marketplace (on which I can also post to truly local Yardsale sites too.) I'm doing it as I clean up/out a room. I started with some kitchen items, and have sold about ~$70 for 3 items (not including the American Girl doll I sold at my daughter's request - but for too little. :guilty:) I've also got some winter jackets, old diaper bags, and other nick-nacks up for sale that if I get even $10 for each I'd make another $100 bucks. The nice thing is, you can price your "wish" price, and then if it doesn't sell, you can lower it until someone jumps on it. I have someone buying a kid's jacket tomorrow for $50!

Good luck, I hope the advice here helps - I know *I've* gotten some ideas!! :)

I know you didn't ask about this, but can you cut money out of your vacation budget by reducing the number of days of your trip or staying somewhere more modest. We are for example going to Key West this month and flights were pretty high and lodging too. It may not be what others would do, but to still get to go and stay in budget, we are making it a short trip, still taking a full week off work, but flying out on a Monday and flying back on a Friday, just staying four nights / three days. Also, we are still opting for a very well located place with pool, hot tub, double queen bed, mini frig, and microwave, but have opted for a well reviewed, but fairly modestly priced property by Key West standards in the winter.

I have found that trips like that are very relaxing with the weekends at home and feel like a full week vacation. Cutting the days, though, in our case helps with the vacation budget tremendously.

I'd rather cut back on vacation than on my normal life and budget.

You don't. You need to wait for when you can afford the trip. You do not need to have a 1000 dollars. You need smart goals to utilise the money that you DO have, Why do you need a 1000 dollars anyway?
