I need to know the top 4 ECV Rentals and why? Has anyone used "Scoot Orlando, or Disney World Scooter Rentals"? I think they are the same company but not sure. Buena Vista is one of the main companies but just wondering about having the charger with you in the parks and what to do with the charger while you are riding or eating someplace. Also wonder about spending a lot of time looking for places to charge it because it doesn't have a long battery life. Any help would be great. Thank you.

I would have no idea how to find the top 4 companies. It would also be very subjective. Top four preferred, top 4 any type, top four non preferred.

I have rented several over the years and never have had to charge in the parks. There is a pocket on the back of most of the seats you could carry the charger in. CMs can help you find a place to charge. They also all have a basket you could use to Carry the charger.

You should not need to charge an ECV during the touring day. Turn it off when you're not moving for a period of time - shows, etc. - take the key when you are away from the ECV.

powellrj is correct, "top x" anything is subjective, but, in no particular order:
Walker Mobility, because they have always provided excellent service and been very responsive
Randy's Mobility, because they have always delivered directly to the client, it's the first company I rented from, and they make sure you know how to dissassemble/reassemble the unit.
Scootarama, because they removed the arms at my request before delivery.
Buena Vista Scooter, because it's on-site on the Boardwalk.

I've rented from Buena Vista several times and had a good experience. They are one of the companies that can leave it with the bell service at a Disney resort which is convenient. The charger fits into a pouch on the back of the seat so it doesn't take up room in your basket and you have it with you all day - so I like that. I've rarely had to charge the ECV. I've sometimes rented the portable scooter that can be broken down into pieces to put in a car (like when we've gone over to Universal we took it) - but I still rarely had to charge that one. Whatever company you use - talk to them about your weight and how you'll be using it and they'll usually be able to recommend one that will not need a charge during the day.

We rented 2 scooters from Buena Vista in April. We always rent from them and with few exceptions have never had to charge in the parks. That being said, the last couple of times one of our scooters died after just a few hours of use. Buena Vista was good about exchanging the scooter but it was an annoyance. Their scooters are hard used and the batteries failing. In April, scooter dies again. Buena Vista replaced it with a brand new one. I suspect they are beginning to swap out the older ones. Buena Vista also added the pocket to the back of the seat and secured the charger with a security cable to the seat. So you cannot leave the charger behind. But neither can you remove just the battery from your vehicle to schlep into your room to charge. (We would take just 1 scooter into the room and port the other battery on it.) We will rent from Buena Vista again but ask for the newer scooter.

Just wanted to chime in and say, Walker Mobility is my suggestion. Although they can't leave the scooter with guest services, I have never had a problem with a meet time and location. There scooters hold a charge, are newer looking, and disassemble easily.
