I am officially out of lurking! I am so thankful for all of the wonderful info. this board provides and figured it was time to get the most from it by getting on board! My question is, do I need to wrangle my kids out of bed for the EE even in Nov. (after Jersey week, well before Thanksgiving)? Or should we just avoid the EE parks on their days? How much impact do you think the FTP will have on the crowds? Thanks for your input!:)

Hi MagicPlanner and welcome to the boards :D . I can't answer your question, but we are also going in Nov and would like to know this also. We are there 11/15-11/25.

Welcome to the boards, MagicPlanner, from another newcomer. I'm hoping Disney will make a lot of money from the FTP, but that the crowds will not be too bad.

If your kids want to sleep in, so much the better! That way you can get going later, too. But if I were a kid again at WDW there's no way in the World I'd want to miss the Extra Magic Hour (or early entry). I'd be up like it was Christmas morning! Ha! Maybe yours are teenagers. :) My general rule of thumb is to go to EMH in the off-season but if you sleep in, go to another park. See this site: http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm

Our plan is to do a little bit of both. We will be there the 2nd week of December and anticipate low crowds. We will do EE for Mk and I think one day of Epcot or AK. WE are doing several late night activities and I made sure to plan a later morning to follow these nights. I have found that my DS is up and at 'em the first day or two at WDW, then the tiredness over rules the excitment and geting him up early is not so easy. We arrive on Sat. and will do MK EE on Sunday. Then hit Epcot EE ot AK EE later in the week. WE have found however that off season you really do not have to do EE unless you want to be up early. Lines are not bad at any time.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! Billybaruch1-I know what you mean about the kids feeling like every morning is Christmas morning when at WDW--that is how we all feel! But like Jordan'sMom experiences, my kids have lots of energy the first two mornings or so, then the exhaustion takes over. They never sleep too late, maybe 7:30 or 8:00- just late enough that EE can be hard. We've been when the parks are open a lot later so maybe they will do better this trip since we will have nights when we'll turn in early. I think like Jordan'sMom suggested we will try to hit EE for MK for sure and just not be out too late the night before. We'll avoid the EE parks if we can't get their early. Thanks!

We're going to be there Nov 8 to 15 and are going to do EE for the MK and AK with the kids, then Epcot EE just me and hubby (thank the grandparents). We have decided to pick them out of bed at the last minute and just grab danishes for breakfast, then do the earliest possible lunch. My boys will be 4 and 2½. I heard that with young kids you don't need to really do EE at MGM.

Why do you make sure to do EE for AK? Is it because the animals are more lively early in the AM or because you feel you need the extra time?

We're doing EE for AK because the day we want to visit just happens to be an EE day so we think it's better to beat the rest of the crowds. Plus, we hope to finish a bit early and go to DD that evening for dinner.

That makes sense! You must be so excited to share the magic with your sons and see it through their eyes! It is nice that you have already been so you know the lay of the land. They will really benefit from that I am sure.
