I hate to say it but I have a crush on someone. And I'm married. Don't get me wrong I love my husband.... But I still got a crush on someone. And even if I wasn't married, it would not be an appropriate person for me to date anyway. So all I want to do is get over the crush as fast as possible and make it go away so I won't be thinking about it anymore. I hate that feeling of butterflies you get when youre around the person and last night I even had a dream about the person, so it all just needs to stop! By the way if I could avoid the person I would, but it's not someone I can avoid, I see him almost daily, so that makes it hard to ignore.

I am hoping it isn't your stepson. Why are you posting this, are you asking for advice?

Oh no, not another thread about Frank (FireDancer).

Sometimes putting less information on the internet is a good thing.

:scared1:

As for the OP, you'll just have to wait it out. Be extra nice to your husband and spend some quality alone time with him. You'll forget about the crush.

Maybe the best way to get over it is to imagine how your life would be if you acted on it. The hurt you would cause. The life you would leave behind. The new life that you create that won't be a "grass is always greener" situation. Then try to view that person in reality. Take the rose colored glasses off. Look for flaws.

Luckily the only crushes I get now are for TV characters!

That's good advice to look for their flaws. I'll try that. At the moment I don't see any flaws but I'll try.
That's also good advice to think about how you'd lose everything important to you if you acted on it.
Thanks I will do those, they're good advice.

And NO, it is not my stepson. Ew. Lol.
Oh the "ew" is not because he is bad looking...the "ew" is because I don't think of my stepson in that way (thank god) lol

Tough situation.

FWIW:
Don't indulge in fantasies and cut them off at the knees if they start
Don't allow yourself to be in one-on-one situations
Tough it out - it will pass and I'm so glad that you can see that it will.

Why is it everytime this poster posts something it is just something to get people riled? Is there an internet term for this???? :confused3

Try visualizing the Crushee in 20 years: bald, unemployed, living in a trailer with beer cans strewn all over the floor, watching TV while scratching himself. :scared1:

why would this get people riled? it's not unusual for married people to experience crushes. it happens. why make it into something it doesn't have to be?

I agree with whoever said to not indulge in fantasies. do not allow yourself to sit and fantasize about this person

Didn't you just recently get married?

I would try and concentrate on my husband and work on my new marriage. I'm not sure why you can't avoid your crush. I would be going out of my way to avoid this person. :confused3

That doesn't stop many people from MARRYING them! :lmao:

Well if your dh is still away on that business trip, why dont you just get out some pictures or a video from your wedding.

Remember the vows you said to each other. That might help.

You're new here so you haven't seen the unnamed amount of threads about this kind of subject. This poster has a habit of hitting hot buttons and this is the third I've seen so far. Notice how much everyone knows about her life but still respond??? I don't get it at all. :confused3
