Need to Fit Three Cars Seats in Sedan Back Seat

We had a 3 year old and were driving an Equinox when I found out I was pg with twins! After some trial and error we found some seats at Babies R Us that fit 3 across for a bit (until we bit the bullet and got a minivan...). I recommend at least going to BRU to look at seats and they will let you take them out to your vehicle to make sure they fit before you buy it - very handy!! I remember being surprised that it was one of the most inexpensive seats that fit for us, not the big $$ ones.

So very true about the seatbelt being out of reach. My oldest is tiny and she was able to stay in the 5 point harness until she was just shy of 8. At that point we could switch all three to a different style of booster that didn't take up nearly as much room and everyone could reach a seatbelt.

We tried to fit three across and then gave up and bought another SUV. We could do it, but it took forever to get everyone in their seat and buckled correctly. The older kids who could buckle themselves in previously (boosters), no longer could with the tight squeeze. We ended up with a GMC Acadia with two captains chairs in the middle, so the third child can easily walk to the back. It is fabulous!

Can I second this?!

Folding down my second row so the kids could get to the back row was a PITA. Husband took the Journey and I got a captain seat Acadia. Life changer!!!

We have a Nissan Altima and have three across. Two Diono Radians and a Graco Snugride. We got them at all at Buy Buy Baby with a 20% off one item coupon. They are owned by Bed, Bath and Beyond so they will take those coupons as well.

DD has 3 and they fit fine in my Cruze. She has two in the slim ones from ToysRUs. I think they are Graco brand but I'm not sure. One is pink and black and one is blue and black.

Wanted to also chime in the radians are awesome. We have clek foonf seats which I would guess are potentially the ones your daughter found. We've had one for three years and love it still, bought another for our other car, and then bought a radian for grandma and grandpa. We love the radian much more than we thought we would and for rear facing really, really love it. It is quite comparable in construction (more metal than most seats) to the foonf but easier to travel with.

For what it's worth, two radians and a chicco keyfit were what my brother's family put across the back of their Subaru Outback before breaking down and getting the minivan my sister in law had been dreaming of. :)

It often is a game of trial and error. I had a Saturn SL1 and could get three Britax Marathons in it if two were forward facing and one was rear facing (or two rear and one forward). They puzzled together great.

We fit three Britax in the back seat of a Focus. Incredibly tight and my 8 year can't reach the seatbelt himself. They puzzle together because they are a convertible, a 5 point booster and a 4 point booster. DH works at BRU and helps people with this puzzling seats thing all the time!
