they don't make it my sister and my size...we are both plus size ( around 18/20) we need to find something that is similar ( navy and short) unfortunately navy isnt an in color this year. We tried David's bridal and they dont carry our size in the few navy dresses they have and it cant be ordered in time...
I need to find a dress were I can try it one...They went to the mall but found nothing in Navy...:headache:

Yikes! Navies are hard to match, too. It would have been so much easier if they bride would have picked it all out together.

I'll look and see what I can find.

Could you find a pattern you like and get a seamstress to make it for you out of a navy material you like?

OK, here is one from Nordstrom although it's not navy but deep blue. There are quite a few on the site if you do a search.

:thumbsup2

unfortunately she just thought she could go out to a store and find something that both size 0 sister and my sister and I would look good in. She wanted something dressy casual..its the reception is at a yacht club

can you try other bridal stores in your area. Also contacting a seamstress in your area may help as well.

You also may want to look and see if there is a place that you can rent a dress as well. They have all kinds of sizes and colors. It is also cheap and you do not have to get stuck with a dress you may or may not wear again. My sister and mom both rented there dresses for my wedding as I also rented my wedding dress. Best thing I did. Saved a ton of money.

I've had some good luck with Macy's. If you mail order, you can return at the physical store if it doesn't fit. JC Penney also generally has some decent plus size selections.

If I were in your situation, I would buy this dress. The indigo blue is very navy:

And perhaps find similar lace at a fabric store to the Lily Pulitzer dress to fabricate a belt so that it coordinates with what the MOH bought.

At least you'd be able to wear the dress for other (even more casual) occasions.

You could even have lace sewn along the bottom of the dress to coordinate even more.

How about a contrasting color? Nothing says the bridesmaids and the MOH have to all be the same - Navy is one of those colors that lots of other colors compliment. Yellow, pink, taupe even.

Perhaps suggest that route instead of trying to match

Hey - what about this?

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produ...67&CategoryID=37039#fn=COLOR=Blue&sp=1&spc=17

And only $29! Reviews say it's not exactly what is pictured, but it's $29!

ETA: Only comes in 14 and 16 - not sure what your sizes are. - Duh- just reread your post. I guess it wouldn't work.

I think I am going to just head to the mall before we go out on Sunday and see if I can find something and then just have her see them on Sunday when we go out.

I suggested that but she wants navy....

That is a good idea. I am sure any navy dress would go well.
