Need to cancel flight, how?

I have never had to cancel a flight before, I have a one way ticket to Tampa for next Sat. but I am not going. What do I need to do to cancel it? The ticket is with Southwest. I am assuming I will get a credit for the amount? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

You can either call them or input your confirmation # online and follow the directions there. Either way, SWA should give you what I call "air dollars in their bank". This means you can use those dollars to buy another SWA ticket in the future. The KEY is checking the expiration date to your air dollars and flying before that day! Don't let them expire!
