So, I posted earlier today about a problem with my washing machine. It turns out that fixing it is cost prohibitive, so I need to buy a new one. Going to the laundromat with a 2 year old toddler after working an 8 hour shift at work is NOT my idea of fun, so I hope to buy something tomorrow.
My front loader that just bit the dust was a barely 6 year old GE. At the time I bought it, it was one of their more expensive models. Based on my experience, I'm gun shy of buying another GE washer.
There are some things that I liked about having a front loader. For example, the clothes got clean without excessive wear, and they spun nearly dry in the washer requiring less drying time. But, I disliked having to leave the door open to let it dry out, and the silly thing always seemed to vibrate more than it should. But, I don't want another washing machine with an agitator either.
Any brand/model recommendations for me? I was debating on subscribing to Consumer Reports, but I don't know if it's worth the money to do so.
