I know you wont mind me "thinking outloud" here -

I so appreciate all the wonderful posters here - Thank you! :worship:

We're signed up to stay onsite RPR March 27 - 28 (Tues/Wed) I've bought our tickets for 3 days park to park (it was $5 more) on the mousesaver link to Undercover tourist :cool2:

We'll be driving from Ft Myers on Monday - no plans (I'm thinking of a walk up rate/Priceline)

Now the confusion! Our friends are staying at OKW in Disney, and one friend wants us to go to Disney one day (her treat - DD is beyond thrilled)

So Tuesday afternoon we need to go to OKW for a late lunch.

My thoughts are either to on Monday use a ticket to wander the Universal park to get a feel of the land (but no express pass) or just go to AKL or DTD for a walk see - then get the hotel and eat dinner, either way

Tuesday at 6am check in to RPR to get the express FOTL Early Entry perk.

Walk thru the Sueusical land to Olivander's - see that show
Get in line (hopefully no bags - One thread said the no bags or the locker line are now one and the same? But if you dont have a bag - it still saves time not going in the locker room - any thoughts? Mom will probably have her fanny pak

After the Harry Potter ride - go to 3 Broomsticks for the Butterbeer and the atmosphere there - now I've read that Flight of the Hippogriff isnt worth a long line - come back later? Dueling Dragons (this ride has inversions correct? I dont think DD will go for that!)

I know I need to get a times guide to see Poseidon's Fury - but was thinking either head to Poseidon's Fury or head to Suess land

I'm thinking at this point to head to OKW
any tips for driving from Universal to OKW?

I'm thinking we'll be done by 5pm, and maybe head back in to the park for Studio side? I have Shrek, Beetlejuice Simpson's Ride, MIB and Revenge of the Mummy (maybe blues brothers show Disaster attraction Twister) DD is NOT a thrill rider (she will do Big Thunder in Disney, and that's it - she loves Star Trek at Studios and really is looking forward to Forbidden Journey and Hippogriff - I"m making her watch youtube, but no go on Dueling dragons yet!)

Wed - again - get up get in line to do Forbidden Journey and take in more of HP land - At this point in planning no one is thrilled about getting "soaking" wet -but I'm thinking if it's hot here in Chicagoland - maybe we can get in Bilge RAt Barges...

I have an open table reservation for Mytho's Restaurant on Wed at 2

I'm hoping to get our Disney Day on Thursday - Spring Break - we'll probably just do Epcot as its DD favorite park, and its Flower and Garden show that mom will love. FP Soarin and Test Track

and I'll probably have to get a hotel room Thurs thru Priceline...

posting to read thru my jumble - I'm sure its way TMI but I appreciate being able to see what I have... OKW on Tuesday thru a wrench in to my tour - but I'm hoping since it is Spring Break we'll want a break then anyway!

Sheesh - thats a lot of info! No wonder I need to think out loud!

OK - monday - drive, relax, eat on I4 for dinner - or maybe DTD!! :cool1:
Tues - 6am to RPR get checked in and head to Ollivander's then Forbidden Journey - take in the atmosphere, check lines for Hippogriff

Time to head to OKW? leaving Universal at 2 to arrive at OKW at 3

Around 6 drive back to Universal, maybe see the Studio side -

Back to RPR by 9 sleep sleep sleep

Wed - use the early entry - see and do what was missed on Tuesday 2pm Mythos for Lunch

Back to RPR by 9 - sleep sleep sleep
up early Thursday head to Epcot.

Thursday night - drive back to Ft Myers (or stay in hotel if too tired)

Friday and Saturday - enjoy the beach at Ft Myers!! :cool1: maybe find the Flea Market! :rotfl2:

i'm still in shock over what you put in your first post.

hot in chicagland.........?
don't you mean snow....

going to epcot during spring break, you will encounter huge crowds.
but i think you are aware of that.

if you leave uo at 2:00 on tuesday, i don't know if you will be done with the ioa portion completely.
hopefully you will.

check the opening time for hotel guests for the days you are staying on site.
i believe it will open an hour earlier than usually times.

i have done both of the shows at ioa.
i like the Sinbad Adventure so much more.
the Poisden show doesn't impress me as much.
but, saying that, we all have different opinions and viewpoints on what is the better of those 2 shows.

snow for chicago will probably be next week! ;)

It was downright balmy today - really smelled like spring!

Looking at the easy wdw website - they recommend Epcot - not MK - but after seeing the pics of Fantasyland, we want to go there! I cant even imagine how crowded it will be - but we are going knowing full well the crowds will be over the top!

Thanks for the Sinbad Adventure rec - I dont have that on my radar list to look for! DD is huge into Greek Mythology, so I thought she'd enjoy the Poiseden
show

I was afraid it would take longer than 1 hour to get from Universal to OKW... but we're going to be flexible, if we arent done by 2, we'll plan on coming back at night for an hour or so - really use that fotl access!

i have driven that route in 22 minutes before.

but, with it being spring break, i just don't know how much traffic you will see out there.

one tip is to not drive there during rush hours.

that will add time to your destination.

btw, we got an inch of rain today.
high for me was 53.

but tomorrow is sunshine and NO rainbows.....

Is there a reason you're just not doing disney/Epcot with friends on tuesday? you wouldn't have to worry about checking into RPR @ 6 am;)

Staying offsite on Monday & Tuesday (don't forget to checkout lastminutetravel & hotwire vs priceline, especially if you need guarantee of 2 beds) would allow you to bop into the parks on Friday to devote to HP in the am before you drive to Ft. Myers, since most hotels don't have checkin until 3 pm. ps no issue with a bag of any time @ olivanders, you will need to use a locker on 'rides'.

I'd give an hour minimum driving to OKW from the time you leave the park gate, especially if you're going to take the boat to RPR from the park vs walking, always the chance to watch one pull away. I don't do the freeways but stick to surface roads which are easy enough to find if you pull up a map of the area and are far less hassle for a few more minutes of my time.

Enjoy your trip:wizard:

Thanks Keisha - I appreciate your thoughts.

I've made reservations for RPR for Tues and Thurs (months ago) and I just found out Saturday that my friend is getting us tickets to WDW, I don't know, or have much information beyond that...

but its an interesting thought - Epcot on Tuesday- check in to RPR late Tuesday, tour Universal Wed and Thurs

I have looked at people that have posted taking side roads, back roads to Universal/WDW... that may happen -
