How early do we need to arrive before our CRT ADR?

During planning for our Sept trip, I made three reservations (and canceled two) for CRT. I was reviewing my ADR information and saw a note that said to arrive 30 minutes early for pictures. Only one CM told me that. The others didn't mention that we needed to arrive early at all. (As a rule, we ususally try to make it about 10 minutes before our ADR). I know they take pictures before being seated, but I wonder if this is built into the ADR time, or if we truly need to be there 30 minutes early.

Any experience with this?
:confused3

Hmmm ... interesting question. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our ADR when we ate at CRT and it worked out fine.

well, it seems that with all ADRs they are asking you to arrive about 15 minutes prior to your actual time. This seems even more important if you are switching parks or resorts to get to your meal time.

If your ADR is at 6:00 and you don't plan to arrive until 6:00 then when the bus doesn't come like you think it should, or one more ride on the Tower takes longer than you thought, you arrive at the podium at 6:05 late. Had you planned to be there at 5:40, then your delays may have actually gotten you there at 5:59 or something. I think Disney Dining is set up in increments to get the maximum number of people through in the fastest amount of time.

With Cinderella's Royal Table, you receive a photo package as part of your meal. If she spends a few minutes with each person, does a couple of poses, it can take a bit of time to get through the line and they want to make sure that when you table is ready, you are ready to eat, not just getting in line to see Cinderella.

So depending on the time of day and time of year that you are going, 30 minutes early may or may not be excessive.

they only want you to come 5 minutes ahead. I was just there a week ago and we arrived ten minutes ahead and they said come back in five minutes. the people outside were kind of rude, but inside they are really nice. We had breakfast and it was soooooooo good!!!!! the stuffed french toast yummy. :) We loved it there, hope you do too!!

When we went to CRT last month, they would not let us check in more than 15 minutes early. We tried and they would not let us. Interesting. I really don't know why. I guess if everyone arrived early, it could mess them up. I don't know. I just know they would not let us.

They probably do not want you to arrive too early because then the line for pics with Cindy could become congested. People that arrive early would be in line ahead of people that are on time and need to get upstairs. We were there 10 mins early and it was perfect. Enjoy! It is awesome!

The reservation that I have for lunch also says 5 minutes before the scheduled seating time, which is the same for every other ADR we have except for HDD.

I am going to try to make ressie's for CRT at b'fast in Dec. For those of you that have been before, do boys generally enjoy this meal? I am taking my DD2 & my cousin is taking her DD5 & I know they will love it. But I am wondering about my DS5. He said he would enjoy eating with the mice, which I thought was odd, but hey, whatever works!

Also, I read that boys get a sword if they go (which would really thrill my son!) but I'm wondering about my DD2, since we aren't paying, would there be a way to get her a magic wand? I wondered if anyone had gotten one for a younger sibling by paying extra??? Just wondered.

Yes the boys get Swords and the girls get wands. and every child also gets a wishing star that they need to use during the wishing ceremony. I don't think that your DD2 would have any trouble getting a wand. I actually had to pop over to the entry podium later in the day as our DD's wand fell out of the stroller somewhere - Luckily we noticed before she did and the CM's were more than gracious in getting us another from the back.

My DS8 had a blast earlier this month at the lunch. He loved the sword, likes being around any characters and thought the mini hotdogs were awesome!!
