Need to add 1 day on vacation-What should I do?

We are staying at BCV 9/28-10/5, and I need to add a day to depart on the 6th. Unfortunately, everything is sold out at all DVC resorts. I really don't want to switch hotels for one night, but I'm not sure what other options I have. I was put on the waitlist, but I've never done a waitlist before, and I'm worried it may not come through. Should I take the chance of paying cash for a room at BC Resort now, or take a chance on the waitlist? There's availability at BC Resort now, but will there be in a month? Changing rooms would be a hassle, but it would be better than changing hotels.

What are the chances of a room opening up while I'm there on vacation? Does it happen often? Could I add on the last night with points if it does become availabe, or would I have to pay cash?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Do both. Go on a wait list for a room but have a back up planned and reserved for cash. You can always cancel the cash reservation if the wait list comes through.

I'd make back up cash ressies...stay on the wait list andI'd call periodically to MS to see if anything is avail...

To reserve at BC Resort don't I have to call Disney directly? We would be using my husband's airline discount, and I don't think I could use that through MS.

If I have to call Disney directly, don't they have strict policies about cancellations?

If you are booking a room only with CRO you have till 5 days out to cancel and get your $$$ back. Personally I've never had a wait list not cmoe through I bet when you get to right before the 30 days out it'll come in for you. Good Luck.

Make sure you start calling at thirty days. Even now, I would call weekly to check. Once the thirty day window opens up, the waitlist is modified and again at seven days. I would probably call almost daily at thirty days....and start at 32 days. There is usually another rash of changes at thirty days to avaoid holding account points.

Definitley have a cash reservation as a back up.
