I have ten teenagers I am taking to Universal in a few weeks. We are going on a Tuesday and Friday, have a 2 day 2 park pass, and express passes for Tuesday. The teens want to do HP. We can be at the park as early as needed to get in line. What advice do you have? Thanks in advance

Do single rider as often as you can/are able.

Go in the stores BEFORE the rides (Don't take forever in there, but trust me it's worth it.)

DO NOT bring a bag. You will have to put it in a locker before every ride. NOT FUN! and the line is longer in that case.

I was there last summer and the lines just to get into the land were horrible. Has there been an improvement? What can we expect first thing in the morning?

^^^^^ great advice. :wizard:

Also, the most obvious, is get to the park 15 minutes before it opens and make sure you have your passes in hand.

Remember that express passes do not work on the new Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. If they want to do that line as quickly as possible, they should use the single rider's line.

You can use express passes for Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff.

Now if you don't bring a bag but then do some shopping, what do you do with the shopping bag(s)?

With ten teenagers along, I would be asking about the lines for the alcohol carts for you instead of the HP lines for them. You are a brave woman!

We were just there, and here is what worked for us:

1. We stayed on site, so we were allowed in 1 hour prior to opening. Priceless. I couldn't believe the massive amount of people flowing in when the clock struck 9am.
2. As PPs have stated, take advantage of single rider line. Otherwise, brace yourself for an 1 hr + wait (which we did once, and the line constantly moved, so it wasn't too bad; and the queue is mesmerizing, too, so that helps pass the time).
3. Go back in the evening. Tired families with kids are heading out, and the crowds are less massive.

Have fun. I absolutely loved HP and can't wait to return!

Would a small camera bag be allowed on a ride? The locker thing sounds frustrating. I really like having a small backpack as a park bag, but not if I have to put it in a locker each time I go to an attraction...

No bags that hang over your shoulder are allowed. The only bags allowed are fanny packs.

:( Thanks for answering, damo. That's so disappointing. I'm not wearing a fanny pack... not sure what to do now except just not bring a camera.

ETA: On second thought, can anyone recommend a bag that converts into a fanny pack? That way I could just strap it around my waist to get on rides and carry it on my back or shoulder otherwise. Sounds plausible in theory, anyway. :)

Yes, I have that bag. It is called a Kipling multiple belt bag or also called a multiple convertible. It has straps that will convert it to a fanny pack that can be tucked into their own zippers at the back of the bag when you use it as a shoulder bag.

This MAN:cool2: is use to it. I am a teacher taking some of my FBLA students to national conference. You think 10 is bad? We are staying in the Orlando convention center area along with 8000 other high school students. The Hilton and all the other surronding hotels will be packed with teenagers:scared1:

Thanks again, damo! I am going to search for bags like this in hopes I can find a cheapo one. :)

You can't see the person next to you while you're riding, so there's no reason to not do the singles line. The first time through, though, tell them you'd like to do the tour, and at the end of the tour, they'll give you the option of riding single. If you just do the single line, you miss most of Hogwarts, and it's very worth seeing.
