Hi there ... I'm a Disney and SW veteran but have not been to Aquatica. We have two boys (9 & 4) and wanted to give it a try. I have annual passes from a previous SW visit this year - so am set on tickets - but need pointers on things to do. We'll be at Disney 6/6 - 6/13 and would like to spend a day at Aquatica ...

Are we at risk of Park's closing? Do they allow you to bring food in (small soft sided coolers?) Where's the best place to stake your spot? How much time should we allow and when should we get there? Is there any reference material or books we should check out first?

Anything you can offer is much appreciated!

Thanks a ton!
Diane

There's notices of no outside food in the park. But i've seen plenty of coolers. And unlike Disney there's plenty of food spots like 2 minutes outside the park. A kids meal alone is over 7$. And adult meals are a few dollars more than that. It can be hard to pack up every one and then go back in, so I'd suggest sending just one person with maybe the little one. Don't bring in drinks though cause they make you throw away the lid and straw, it'll be best to just buy one refillable cup. And even though it's 2$ a refill it's still as much as a large drink from McD's. And if you bought one last time... well just bring it.

It hasn't been over crowded at all. So you shouldn't have a problem getting in. Just be prepared for climbing stairs. There's three slides that are like 9 flights of stairs tall. And so sometimes it's nice to stand in a line because then it doesn't feel like you have to rush up the stairs. I like to pick a spot over by the kid play zone. The family slides are there, the racers are there, the rao river, and if you take the rao around to the other exit, you'll be by the wave pool, loggerhead lane, tassie twister, dolphin plunge, and at the far end of the park is whanua tube slides

They do water the ground, but it's not enough during the hot months. So make sure every one wears sandles or water shoes. And all but the dolphin plunge you can wear them, and even then you just hold them in your hand as you go down.

check my thread out over aquatica twice a week. I've included in lines/waiting for all the slides.
