Need tips for using hot glue gun for adding BLING

Seeing all the pictures of finished shirts has inspired me to add sequins and other bling to my shirts. However, I'm making a big mess with my hot glue gun. Does anybody have any tips for adhering the sequins to shirts? I'm assuming hot glue guns are the best, but it just seems to be a big blog of glue for such a little sequin.

Any tricks here?

For "bling" look at craft stores or Wal-Mart for crystals that already have a glue on the back and are meant for adding to fabric. All you have to do is heat set it by using an iron or there are special heat tools to heat just the crystal. Then you won't have to mess with a hot glue gun.

Or if you are wanting to add sequins, there is a fabric glue that you can use to attach them to your shirt. It is typically white but dries clear. You can also get this at a craft store or sewing/arts and crafts section in Wal-Mart.
