We are going to Blizzard Beach on our next trip to Disney in April. We've never been.

Can anyone give us suggestions as to where to should sit, and what we should not miss.

We do plan on arriving right when the park opens.

My family includes: me, DW, DD10 & DS7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Mickeydad :wave2:

We were at Blizzard Beach a week ago Wednesday. We had a good time, but it was very crowded. It is good that you are getting there when the park opens. We had a hard time finding a spot just to put our stuff down! There were no more chairs available by the time we got there! There are chairs and lounges all over the place, so as far as recommending what place to choose to sit, that would be hard. You can sit on the beach or on decks all around the park.

I highly recommend the Teamboat Springs water slide. It is blast to go on with your family! The rafts hold six people, and the ride is very long and curvy. My family also had fun on the double inner-tube slide, the lazy river and the "tobbogan" ride where you slide down a water slide on a raft while laying on your stomach. Unfortunately, when we were there, the lines were rather long. After climbing what seemed like several hundred steps to get to the top of the water slides, we still had to wait a while for our turn. There is also a chairlft that will take you to the top of the "mountain", but the wait for that is also very long.

I hope you have a good time and have warm, sunny weather! :sunny:

We spent a day at BB back in Dec. of '03 and had an absolute Blast!! My DD's were 9 and 11 at the time and we did everything they had to offer. My 9 year old and Hubby even did Summit Plummet and loved it!! We will be back at DW in 10 days and the 1st thing they asked was "Can we go to BB again?" It was the most relaxing day we had our entire trip. Hope yall have a Great time!!!!!!!!

Wow, if waterparks are crowded on a Wed in Feb they must be really bad other times of the year. I'm guessing it will just get worse as more people buy MYW tickets with lots of pluses.

Go early! Do Summitt Plummitt first thing, if you want to do that ride! The line the rest of the day is waaaaaayyyyyy long!

Wear Aqua socks!!!! I can't stress this enough! Your feet will get beat up, hot, and gross if you don't. They are more comfortable than barefeet and are allowed on all the rides. You can outfit the whole fam at Target or Wal-MArt for between 3-8 bucks a pair.

Keep reapplying sunscreen!!!! You risk a terrible sunburn if you don't because you'll be in the water/sun all day!

Get a set of beach chairs in a shaded place right when you get there. They go super fast! One or more of your party will need a rest/resting spot some time in the day! We've left our towels and t-shirts there as we go on rides and periodically check back to make sure they are still there....never had a prob. You can get lockers, too, for a fee...I recommend getting one right away too since they go fast.

You expend a lot of energy running up the stairs to get to rides and on the rides themselves, so I recommend bringing snacks with you because the snacks at the park can get expensive...plus compiling lunch on top of that.

ENJOY! It is a fun place!

Thanks for all the tips.

Does anyone know where I can get a map of the park?

instead of 'water socks' are tevas okay?

Is Meltaway Bay close to Teamboat Springs & Ski Patrol Training Camp?? We are thinking that maybe we should find chairs at Meltaway Bay, but if Teamboat Springs & Ski Patrol Training Camp is not close by, then maybe we should find seats somewhere else.

Any ideas?

I don't think tevas are allowed on the slides. When you get there find a place to sit, then send someone for a locker. Then if your party wants to do Summit Plummet, do that first.

Head towards the back of the park as soon as you arrive and you should be able to find a couple of seats in the shade. We took a right as soon as we crossed the bridge and walked past the wave pool area towards the back of the park.

Bring a small cooler with some snacks. It's much faster to grab something to eat at your chair than it is to stand in line, find a table and eat. Just don't bring any glass containers. You can also buy a refillabe mug for $10.

Be at the gate at least 15 min. before opening and if you're going to rent a locker, do that 1st. If you're doing Summit Plummet do it 1st, that's where the line forms first. Runoff Rapids is a great, long twisting raft ride. There are 3 different chutes; the middle one is enclosed, kind of a wet Space Mt. They'll make you take off your Tevas and hold them in your hands on Summit Plummet and Double Gusher.
