We are going in August for the first time in 6 years. August is normally the time we go and we always picked it because it tended to be less busy. (the end of the month)
My question is that with all of the technology added to a visit, am
I going to be disappointed with the crowd levels? Are they a lot higher than they used to be in August?
Thanks for the help.

Overall crowd levels have not changed significantly from one year to the next.

We are normally off season travelers, and had to go once in Aug 2011. I was prepared for big crowds, but they were better than I Thought. Plan for breaks. Also, we aren't normally big on giving our kids juice, but if we go again we'd get some of those really small juice boxes. My kids (Esp my son) needed a little more than water to perk back up. Have fun!

If there is a bigger crowd it will have nothing to do with the technology but the economy pick up and the dates that school starts

We were there end of August last year and the crowds were great but man the weather that week was unbearable. It felt like your face was melting off. But still a totally awesome time lol :)

We go annually the last 10 days of August and never have an issue with the Parks being too crowded, though it certainly isn't slow until the very last day or two. Last year was very hot, many days of 100 temps, but it's easy enough to stay cool.

We will be going the first time in August this year. I'm more worried about the hot weather than the crowds.

We also go at the end of August, and the crowds get better [lower] every day until we leave. Yes, it's hot. Yes, we go through a lot of sunscreen. But we find it's a great time to be there, and a wonderful way to end our summer vacations. This year, because of the way labor day falls, we will be there until September 5th. Really looking forward to those last few days as crowd levels are expected to be 3s.

When we were going before August was our time to go. I would rather deal with the heat and lower crowd levels. If I were being honest the heat really is not something I remember as being unbearable while we are there. When we come home and I talk about the trip I don't think I have ever mentioned how hot it was. I guess it's just my state of mind while I am there. Just happy to be away from the real world for a little while.

We have almost always gone late August/early Sept. In the beginning it was due to summer vacation for DS but after he was older and no longer in school it was just tradition. The crowds have always been pretty easy and the heat doesn't bother us but we are from Georgia so it's pretty much what we are used to.

We were there at the end of August last year and the crowds were great, but it was hotter than Hades!! It didn't help that I was 20 weeks pregnant....but we are considering August again for next year...
