We are thinking of changing our May ressies from All Star Movies to the Contemporary Garden Wing. The tower (sadly) is just not in the budget for this trip. Should we even bother with the Contemporary if we have to stay in the wings? I've read some posts that say those rooms are dirty, dark, and worn. What's it really like? Any good room locations to request? What about views? Any little secrets or special touches that make the CR special? We've been there for dinner and shopping, but have not stayed there. I am thinking that it would be great to be that close to the Magic Kingdom with our 1 year old. It would be so easy to go back for a nap! I'm also thinking that the baby (and DH, too) would get a big kick out of the monorail running through the resort. Also, the Contemporary is one of only three resorts we've never stayed at, so I'm kind of excited about the idea! I would love to hear any information.

We had a wonderful stay in the north wing. We could see the fireworks from our room. The room was large & very nice. We especially liked the bathroom set-up.

YOu'll have a wonderful stay there!

I'll be honest -- the architecture and decorating of the CR does NOTHING for me. The rooms weren't anything special, either. But you sure can't beat the convenience of just walking to the MK! We're staying there one night on our next trip, and the rest at Port Orleans.

We would probably always stay at the All Stars if we could have 5 in a room there.

We love the Contemporary and have only stayed in the North Garden Wing, IMHO it is terrific. The rooms are bright and cheery and maybe 2x the size of all stars. You can't beat the location and the amenities - fast food, 2-3 sit down restaurants, room service and great shopping. I like the ground floor so we have a patio and twice now I have been lucky enough to get a room with a view of the water pagent. Great for traveling with kids - dh and I sit on the patio with a drink and watch the water pagent while the kiddos sleep.

Its a very short walk to the mk and a great pool area for toddlers. We love the monorail to Epcot as we spend many nights there. When our girls were little we would bathe them and get them cozy in the stroller. We head to epcot where they would promptly fall asleep leaving dh and I with a night to our selves (sort of!) without a babysitter. How great is that!!

Personally having stayed in the wings 5 times I can now never justify the extra expense of the tower rooms, ymmv.
