Need Thank-you Gift Ideas for Disney Hosts

We are very blessed to have friends in Orlando who make our vacation much more affordable and pleasant.
For our October trip we are doing a split stay onsite for the first couple of days, then moving to their house for the remainder. They will house us, feed us breakfast, drive us to parks and drive us to airport for our home flight.
In addition, our college son and their college son are best friends so he will be spending a week in August with them, and they will do all the above for him.

So what is an appropriate gift? We tried to take them out to eat last time and they wouldn't let us pay. I ended up taking a photo of them watching the MK fireworks and putting it in a Mickey frame and at Christmas I sent them a Harry & David basket. They love Disney but have a lot of Disney items/decor. The wife does love hot chocolate, if that helps.

I need some ideas for a thank you gift that adequately conveys how much we appreciate them.

Good idea for the restaurant gift card! I hadn't thought of that. Is there any place at WDW to get some good cocoa/hot chocolate mix? (they don't drink alcohol).

I agree that a gift card to a nice restaurant would be a nice gesture.

What about a more unusual delivery type gift, like an organic produce delivery (we have one called Full Circle in my area...you can look it up to see what I mean), maybe there's a fancy drinking chocolate gift delivery, or one of those websites where you can create a customized ice cream that "describes their personality" and ship it to them?

Regardless of the gift you give them, I think what they'd appreciate the most is a handwritten note card thanking them for their generosity and hospitality in making your family trip extra special.

Is there something particular to your area where you live that they would appreciate? One time I brought someone who had been very helpful to us, a container of maple syrup, from an award winning producer near here. It was quite heavy in the suitcase, but I knew she wouldn't get something like that in Florida. Perhaps you live in an area where there are unique items that wold make lovely gifts.

Do they like to cook? If so maybe a small basket of little kitchen gadgets and a gc of some sort.

If she likes hot cocoa, Godiva sells cocoa in small tins. Their hot chocolate is so good! You can make up a gift basket of the cocoa, some candy, and maybe a restaurant gift card. Dinner and dessert!

Ghirardelli gift card?? (great hot chocolate) and/or basket? I think Costco sells them at a discount

I'm sure they would enjoy your taking the time out of your trip for a nice meal with them. Simply excuse yourself to go to the restroom and pay the bill before it gets to the table. I have to do this when we visit my aunt and uncle or they insist on paying! The restaurant gift card is also a great idea.

If they like wine, sign them up for the wine of the month club. We do that for my brother and his wife. They love it.

I've been trying to think of something from our area. They also lived here for 20 years--that's how we knew them--and I'd like to think of something they'd miss, but there aren't a lot of distinctive products that I can think of. We do have a local salsa company.
I might go with the Godiva cocoa idea and homemade cookies since it will be October.
