Need texting pay as you phone plan?

What is the best deal for unlimited texting on a pay as you go phone plan?

I need one that includes a phone.

I don't think any of the plans include the phone and none of them have unlimited texting. You will have to go with a regular phone plan for that. We used net10 as that is the cheapest we have found for texting.

Virgin Mobile has a $35/month plan: Unlimited txt and data/web, 300 voice minutes. You can register a cc for automatic payments or you can buy a top up card in the store to add money to your phone account, and the monthly charge will be withdrawn from that.

Their least expensive phone (on their website) for that type of plan is $89.99

You might be able to get a phone for less on eBay or in a store such as Radio Shack/Best Buy if they have a sale or carry older models.

DD has a KyoceraS2300 that was $49 and uses the plan I described above. I don't see that phone under the unlimited portion of the site anymore though, it is under the other pay per txt side. So you'd have to check to see if it would work. Should say on the box.

I agree with the pp. You're not going to get a phone for free without a contract. There is a $79 phone currently on the Virgin Mobile site. Dd has had their unlimited texting plan for a year and it's worked well.

Kajeet is a service aimed primarily at kids, and they have an unlimited texting pay as you go plan for $15/month. Their cheapest phones with a keyboard are about $100 right now.

I like AT&T for texting plans. DD17 has their pay as you go service and we just bought a phone for DD11. Her phone was $12 at Walmart - standard phone pad but fine for her to text me that she is on the bus & where to pick her up. The texting is $5-200 texts, $10-1000 texts, or $20 for unlimited each month.

I got my daughter a blackberry with Virgin from craigslist for $40. It was like new. I use the $35 a month plan.

I will check out Walmart & Target.

DD has mentioned Cricket, so I will look into that also.

There are too many options, with various packages......I just want a simple phone, simple plan with unlimited texts.
