Tomorrow is my DD's 10th birthday (my baby is in double digits, lord help me). She decided she was going to Denny's for dinner (well she will be ordering breakfast, she is hasbrowns crazy). There is very little that I can eat at Denny's (I am a vegetarian) and even less when trying to eat right. I already figured out that a single scoop sundae w/o whipped cream and nuts is close to 400 calories. I have no clue what I am going to eat for dinner. I am thinking about trying to get a "deluxe" salad without meat, they all come with chicken or something and bringing my own dressing. If I am able to do this, I think I will be okay. But if for whatever reason they won't (they wouldn't subs fries for chicken in their sampler  ) I am not quite sure what I am going to do. I guess I could always just get a small salad and eat something else when we get home.

Does any one have any advice, help or just some support? With only 1 pound to go reach my first goal of 10 pounds I am not going to let this get in my way.

This is a tough one! I haven't been to Denny's in a million years but I am sure that their menu is still about the same. I like your idea of ordering the salad and bringing your own dressing. If you think you can do that, then go for it. Even if you have to order two small garden salads (if they won't leave the chicken off, which I CAN'T imagine they would refuse to do!). Is going out to eat there too much of a temptation? Aside from the ice cream (hee hee) is there anything that they have on the menu that will tempt you to order?

Good luck! Just keep thinking of that last pound you have to lose for your goal. You still have plenty of time between now and Easter but wouldn't it be great to lose it this week? :)

I was going to suggest you get the garden burger which is meatless, but YIKES...665 calories, 33 grams of fat and 75 grams of carbohydrates??? Not a wise choice, I'm thinking.

If I was Vegan I think I would just order a couple of salads and bring my own dressing. Their menu with nutritional information is HERE

No advice really. Just want to wish you good luck! I've had a birthday in the house this week too (DD-14) and there have been a ton of temptations. GOOD LUCK!!! Let us know how it goes! You can do it!

Well we are getting ready to leave and I am still not 100% sure what I am going to do. I know that I will be having that sundae, I planned for it by eating less the rest of the day but as for my "real" dinner I guess I will figure it out when I get there. :) I will let you know how it goes when I get back.

Okay, I didn't do "too bad." I guess. I ended up having a grilled cheese, fries (only ate a few of them, though) and a salad. I was hungry, because I had been running around all day and didn't get to each lunch. I didnt' end up having the sundae because I was too full from the sandwhich. I did end up with a small bite of my DD sundae and a spoon full of my other DD milkshake. I am still within my calories for the day, so that is good, but I feel like a blimp right now.

Your dinner sounds real yummy!!! I hope your DD had a great birthday!!

WOOHOO!!!!!! Good for you! I would never in a million years have thought of suggesting a grilled cheese sandwich. Congrats for being too full from dinner to order the sundae! Sometimes just a bite is enough to satisfy that desire!!!

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!! I'm glad it worked out for you!!! :)
