OK all you bright resourceful CBers.....DD needs to decide on a "quote" for her yearbook.....she's been doing online searches and coem up with some good possibilities but nothing has screamed "this is it" to her yet......

One of her searches turned up this one from our friend Walt:

"All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them."

A few JFK and RFK ones came to mind....
Also I was thinking of maybe a line from a Disney movie....(I suggested just "Hakuna Matata" but she nixed that one  )

So....suggestions???
Doesn't have to be Disney - related....just high school graduation/yearbook/ppropriate/inspirational.....

TIA

I think this is Robert Frost, but not entirely sure:

Man's reach must exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?

How about MY yearbook quote..........

"Do you guys smell that?"

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. E. Roosevelt

My yearbook quote was from Ferris Buelles Day Off(maybe a little dated by now)..."Life moves pretty fast. If you dont stop and look around, you could miss it.".

here is Mike's suggestion for Meghan

Once the toothpaste is out of the tube, it's hard to get it back in!
H. R. Haldeman

I'm an advisor for our school's yearbook. The most popular quote from last year was:

"Like a fat girl playing dodgeball, I'm out"

How horrible is that?

Using a famous quote has, for me, become a little tired. Of course, I read them all day. Think of something original, something that is truly you, something that when people read it they will say, "Yeah, that's her."

Good luck!

My yearbook quote (we did senior pages so I could put the whole song on) came from "In My Life" by the Beatles.

Mine was, "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" - Walt Disney.

Corny, but hey, I thought it was cute.

My favorite quote from high school yearbook

"If peeing in your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis" Adam Sandler in Billy Madison

Of course, they messed it up in the yearbook and it printed as "If peeing in your pants is cool, consider me" Miles Davis

My favorite quote from last year,

The road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began
Now far ahead the road has gone,
and I must follow, if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet,
until it joins some larger way.
Where many paths and errands meet,
and whither then? I cannot say.

J.R.R. Tolkien

:D NHAnn,
Personally, I like the quote by Walt in your OP.

My favorite quote, although I'm not sure who said it, is

"You can't win if you don't play."

Wow, thanks for all your comments and suggestions! :)

JDY-- I think she's taking your advice to heart ;) "Think of something original, something that is truly you, something that when people read it they will say, "Yeah, that's her." "....she was looking through some of Walt Disney's and liked this one--

"There's a certain hootchy-kootchy motion to a goldfish" :teeth:

and a Winnie the Pooh one "To the uneducated, an A is just 3 sticks" ;)

:)

NHAnn:

Wow. This one had me pulling out one of my old yearbooks. Memories, both good and bad, came flooding back.

Here's a few of the quotes that seem to have held up over time:

Doing what you like is freedom; liking what you do is happiness.

Life is wasted on those who cry, but for those who laugh life is thiers for the taking!

Man's flight through life is sustained by the power of his knowledge.

Consider well what your strength is equal to, and what exceeds your ability.

However, my favorite quotes come from the notebooks of Lazarus Long (See Robert A. Heinlein's 'Time Enough for Love'). Two notables are:

Certainly the game is rigged. Don't let that stop you; if you don't bet, you can't win.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

I realize the second is probably *waaaaay* too long, but it is one of my favorites. But as far as I'm concerned, any of the quotes from the notebook are great. Do a Google search for them. They're out there in a lot of places.

Last minute insertion that I couldn't resist: "I have never let my schooling interfere with my education." - Mark Twain (1835-1910)

Best of luck,
