need suggestions on lightweight stroller

We are going to WDW in Feb We have a 1 year old and a 2mo old We are trying to think of the best way to push them through the park. We have a double stroller which is so heavy I don't want to bring. We were thinking about getting a lightweight single stroller and carrying the baby in a carrier??? My question is what do people recommend so a lightweight stroller? I perfer not to spend too much. We were looking at the Jeep Sport??

In the mean time, what is your budget? 2007 models are being clearanced at many stores, so you might be able to find something on sale. Have you checked BRU for clearance? I've seen Maclaren Volos on sale for $80 and Chiccos for $60, and those are better quality strollers.

Check Target, too, for clearance strollers. And Inglesina is another brand that I would consider if you can find it clearanced (Inglesina Swift model).

I would highly recommend a double for children of those ages - it's likely that they'll end up sleeping at the same time and baby won't be as comfortable sleeping in a sling as he would in a stroller. There are lightweight doubles that you can get or go with two singles - but you should have a place for both kids (IMO). AS far as lightweight singles - Combi or Macs.

I am new to disboards but came on here for the same sort of information. I will be going to Disney with a 4 yr old and a 2 month old. When we took DD last time she was 15 months old and we brought the Graco metrolite instead of the Maclaren Quest bc we really needed the big basket underneath and we wanted DD to have lots of comfy space to sleep. The graco just seems more comfy. Now, this year we are perplexed. Do we take the Graco and use the carseat carrier insert for the newborn and take the Maclaren for the 4 year old for when she gets wiped and falls asleep? Dont know how comfy she'd be. Or, do I buy a double stroller? The baskets dont seem so accessible and can my DD recline with infant seat behind her if I get that type? I have to really look into double strollers.

Why would you need the car seat insert? I'm pretty sure that Graco stroller lies nearly flat, if not completely flat. That would work great for your newborn. They're not really supposed to be in the carrier/car seat for extended periods of time. If you don't typically use doubles, then I wouldn't buy one espeically for disney - unless you've got a lot of money readily available - and in that case, I'd be happy to help you look at doubles. I would personally bring what you have available - Graco for the baby (no carrier in the parks) and the mac for the older child.

I think you need a stroller for the baby too, not just a carrier. I'd go with a double stroller if it were me. What kind of double stroller do you currently have? It's a nice break for you adults when the kids nap right in the cozy stroller. You can have a nice sit-down meal as the kids sleep. We have twins and used to LOVE doing that. We'd recline the seats, put up the canopies, and sit down and relax and have a nice meal.

We have a Graco Quattro duo. I's a front to back...it's pretty heavy. I worry about getting it on/off the bus and manuvering around the park.

You can absolutely do Disney with a 2mos old with a single stroller. For those who are not avid babywearers, it may seem crazy, but it is not. We did DL for 2 days when my ds was 7 mos old and my dd was 2.5 and we took a single stroller for my dd and I carried my 7 mos old ds in a mei tai the entire trip. He was absolutly comfy sleeping in the carrier. He would not have slept worth a darn inside a stroller. For me it would depend on what time of year you are going. If you are going in the heat of the summer, I'd want a double stroller simply b/c of the heat. If you are going when it's not so hot, single stroller for your 1 year old would work great! You can wear your infant in the baby carrier on every single ride. It was the perfect solution for us.

As far as strollers go, I'm a huge fan of the Peg Perego P3. We got one when my dd was 5 mos old and we love it. It has all the features of a full size stroller but folds up umbrella style. It also has a step on the back for an older child to stand on. So, if you want a break from wearing the baby, you can have your older child stand on the back step (although you might want to try it out first). I have seen the '07 Pegs on sale all over the place!

I do think that taking the Graco tandem stroller would be a huge pain on the busses. But, it would likely work well for your kids in the parks. If you want to take a double with kids that age, I'd just bite the bullet and deal with the busses and take your double Graco. I do think tandems work best with kids close in age. You don't have to worry about no.1 poking at no. 2! Plus, on our duoglider the back seat folded all the way down and the sides came up so it was like a bassinet.

OK, I just saw you are leaving in 21 days. I'd have no problem at all taking a single stroller and a baby carrier!!

i would definitely carry the baby.

at 2 mos i never put any of my kids in a stroller. they would only sleep if one of us was wearing them. at that age they're so little that their weight is not an issue and i just felt much more comfortable having my baby closer to me. also, if you're going soon heat won't be an issue and the baby would probably be more comfortable snuggled up to you if it gets a little chilly.

we just bought two maclaren volos for our 4 & 2 year olds for our trip in may. i just got them yesterday! did i mention i always hated strollers for babies?... my DH and i are actually really excited to use them. and now realize we should have gotten a decent stroller years ago. we honestly have never used a stroller for anything. (we have 3 kids) the volo doesnt recline though, so it might not work well for you since your other baby is young as well. there are relatively inexpensive ($89+ship) new maclaren triumphs on ebay (where we bought our volos). with regular shipping i got mine three days after i ordered it, so this could be an option if you bought it asap.
