We will have our own car, since we are driving down. We will be staying at Pop Century and have a 7:30a.m. breakfast for Chef Mickey's. Should we drive to CR? Should we drive to the TTC and monorail over to CR? We plan on going to the MK after breakfast. It opens and 9:00 a.m. Can we park at 7:00a.m. at the TTC if the park doesn't open until 9:00a.m.?

If you're definitely driving, then you want to just go straight to CR, and skip the TTC hassle at that time (the resort monorail loop has to make stops at Poly and GF before going to CR, and might not even be running as early as you'll be there). You will probably be given a parking pass at CR for a certain amount of time. That may or may not be enough time to get into MK and leave fairly quickly. If the parking pass doesn't give you enough time to go into MK after breakfast (I'm betting it won't), you can just drive over to the TTC from CR (after breakfast), and go to MK via the ferry or monorail from the TTC.

I'd park at the TTC, which should be open at 7:00 a.m. -- the time the monorails begin running. Hope the monorail and enjoy the ride around to the other resorts, by MK and arriving back at CR. When you get off, take the elevator or escaltor down to the 4th floor and it's a short walk to Chef Mickey's.

You'll avoid the hassle of finding a parking space at CR then having to move your car after breakfast. You get the fun of riding the monorail a couple of times.

Be sure to ask if you can ride in the front with the driver. If no one else is already there and you are first in line to ask -- you'll have a terrific view and ride!

My husband and I always park at the CR and walk over to the Magic Kingdom. SOmetimes we park at GF and ride monorail. TTC is too many extra steps.

We have recieved the parking pass at the CR and they have sent us to a certain parking area but if you drive around and park in the main area (it's allowed) then you can leave the car there for the day. It's a nice walk and an easy in and out.

I used to live and work at Disney and have learned some in and out's that are ok to do. I hope you and your family have a great time!

If you can do this (and not be doing anything that's not "Disney legal"), then go for it. Any way you can avoid the TTC is the best way. No trams from parking to the TTC, and no crowded ferry or monorail from TTC to MK = definitely the best way. Just walk over from CR if you're allowed to somehow leave your car there.

I would suggest either parking at the TTC and take the monorail to the Contemporary, or park at CR for breakfast and then drive your car to the TTC for the day.

Parking at the resorts is reserved for the guests at those resorts, but those dining at the restaurants are given a 3 hour parking pass while they dine. Parking at CR all day while at the MK is not "Disney legal", and they do reserve the right to tow your car if necessary.

Why not just take the bus from your resort?
This is by far the easiest solution. The breakfast buses start at 6:30am for the Magic Kingdom area and 7:00am daily for the rest of the World. If you tell the driver you are going to Chef Mickey's he/she might be able to drop you off right at the resort. If you have to get off at the MK entrance just take the seven minute walk to the Contemporary.
I would never put up with the hassle of driving to the MK since you have to park at the TTC. Disney buses are located right outside the main entrance.

In this case you really are better off taking the bus. They run very early. So, be on a bus at about 6:45ish, going to MK. Tell the bus driver you have a 7:30 breakfast at CM's..he may take you there directly if you get lucky. Otherwise, when you get to MK, just head over to the path that runs underneath the monorail line. It takes you right to the CR...about an 8 minute walk. Then, after breakfast, either walk back to MK or take the monorail (about 20 minutes) for the rest of your day.
It is a huge pain to take your car to the TTC...much easier to take a bus and walk to CR. You are going to be in for a longish walk anyway if you park at TTC.
As far as parking at the CR....will your car get towed? Maybe not, but wrong is wrong. How would you feel if when you got back to POP, all the close to the bldg parking spaces were gone, and you had to walk a huge distance to your room from your car because those not staying at POP had taken your close to the bldg spots?! I know, only sort of the same, but that's how those that are staying in the deluxe resorts feel. They have paid for the proximity to the parks, and they don't want a ton of 'interloper' cars taking up the spots they are entitled to. That's why there is a 3 hr. parking okay....more the honour system I guess.

If you do take Grimley's advice and drive to the Contemporary then move your car to the TTC parking lot, remember only one person has to take the car - the rest of you can walk or monorail to the Magic Kingdom and meet up with the driver there.

Good point. This is probably what I'd do. In fact, I'd just go on into MK and meet the driver at some predeterminded spot within MK. That makes for a lot less standing around for those who aren't moving the car to the TTC.
