We are planning on staying at BWV in a 1 bedroom for the first time in June. We are a family of 4 but our kids (8&10) are "active" sleepers and we are wanting to try to fit an air mattress so that they each have their own bed. :)
Has anyone else used an air mattress at BWV (or any of the DVC resorts with a similar layout? If so please send recommendations on a brand/type of air mattress that works well. I was thinking of purchasing the raised twin kind but didn't know if it would be too big. Please Help!

We used an air mattress in a 1 bedroom...we put it against the patio door in the living room area.It is a tight squeeze...but doable. You may have to move the table over a few inches. We stood it up against the door to the studio room all day.
We had a full...about 8 inches high.

As you can see from the floor plan, there really isn't a lot of extra room. But I would think you could place the air mattress in front of the connecting door (or window in a dedicated 1BR). It may not fit lengthwise between the TV and the wall, but will have to extend in front of the door to the balcony. Because of that I would recommend not getting an air mattress that is raised but a regular aerobed mattress. That way during the day you could prop it against the wall or door and easily get to the balcony. Don't forget you'll have to bring the bedding for the extra bed/mattress too. You could probably use a pillow off of the king bed, if you don't want to bring one or have the children share the pillows that go with the pull out couch.

I didn't even think about storing it when not in use- thanks for the tip as we will not get a raised one due to this!

The patio door area looks like it would work for a twin.

Any tips on brands that people like?

We have used an air mattress at BWV, VWL, and BCV. My 2 boys don't like to sleep together either, and we have always been able to find ample room for the air bed. We use the Aerobed twin air mattress that has the pump built in. All you do is plug it in and push the button, and the mattress fills itself. It was around $100 at Target.

I once shared a 1 bedroom with 3 friends, one brought a twin air mattress so that we would not have to share the sofabed. She put it between the king bed and the balcony door.

No problem with air bed. We use one all the time for our adult son. He sleeps in the living room by TV while DH sleeps in the pull out (they both snore)....
There is also room in bedroom. We store it behind the door that connects the bedroom to living room.

Thanks everyone for all of your comments- I feel a lot better about having an air mattress fit!
