We will be staying offsite and would like to have a plan of which rides for a 3 and 1 year old that we will have to get fp for no need for bigger rides as they won't be able to ride.

So my question is other than TSMM are there other rides that would require FP for the kids. We will be going to MK,HS and AK. If not maybe I could talk their parents into doing a few headliners while I take care of the children, this is their first trip and our main focus is the children,of course, but if there aren't a lot of rides for the children that are a must have FP for maybe they can utilize it for some adult attractions. I will be extremely grateful for any insight that I can get.

I'm sorry I should of posted that we have planned 3 days MK and 1 day at each HS & AK

At AK I feel the first one should be for the safari, hopefully in the morning, the animals are more active then. Or some say the same for the evening but I have only done the am. If they can handle dinosaur that might be one for the kids? Depending on the time you go. I go in the fall and haven't waited more than 10 min for it. If they offer for meet and greets those are always good as are the shows! Bo the lion king and Nemo are fantastic for young kids and the pass might help.

HS definitely TSMM, star tours, fantastic maybe? I haven't used FPP at HS so not personal experience

At Mk we used them for ETWB, meeting rapunzel, and haunted mansion at night (though we didn't need it really there) I think the biggest younger kid rides are dumbo (although waiting in have play area is great) peter pans flight, small world, pooh, maybe big thunder if old enough. Depends on the kids right? I'd definitely use them for character meets, those suck up so much time!!!

At DHS, TSMM is the only ride that really appeals to little kids and has nothing scary. FP+ isn't needed for shows. The adults could still FP+ Tower of Terror and either Star Tours or the Great Movie Ride. (Not the coaster because they must choose between that and TSMM.)

At AK, you will probably want a FP+ for the safari, which kids love, unless you hurry there right when the park opens. That would still leave the adults two for Everest and either Dinosaur or Kali River Rapids.

MK is harder because there are a lot of attractions for the little ones that benefit from a fastpass. But, since they have three days, they could still get FP+ for one of the mountains each day. The two attractions little ones might like that most need FP+ are Enchanted Tales with Belle and Peter Pan. You can find more information on Enchanted Tales to see if the kids would enjoy it, but be aware that the FP+ for that may be hard to get if you're offsite. If they're interested in meeting characters, those can have long lines without FP+, as can other rides like Winnie the Pooh. Someone will come along and post a list of FP+ priorities I'm sure. But, if you arrive before the park opens, you'll also find shorter lines for the first hour or so.

Unfortunately, I don't have any FP+ experience to share with you, but I can offer a little insight into what attractions the little ones may enjoy, which will free up some options for the adults to decide on...
At AK, I agree that Safari is a good one if you're not going on it when you first get there. If it's your first attraction, then you may not need it. The Lion King show is amazing and my DS4 loved it (even though he isn't really familiar with the Lion King movie) but I'm not sure how large the new theater will be, so you may not need one for that either. They won't be tall enough for Dinosaur and I would skip It's Tough To Be A Bug because many say that it's too scary for little ones (we skipped it for that reason). If you can get into the Safari and Lion King Show without the FP+ then I would suggest letting the parents head off and enjoy other attractions for a bit while you keep the kids occupied and let them play in the Boneyard...
At HS TSMM is the obvious choice - after that, there isn't much you need a FP+ for with little ones that age. The Disney Jr show is something they will love, but I've read that the reserved seating for FP+ isn't the best and honestly, it's a big enough room that you won't need it. And like others mentioned, you don't really need FP for the shows... Again, FP+ is more for the parents at this park.
Now at MK... I'd highly suggest Peter Pan and the meet and greets if that is something they are interested in doing.
There are so many options there for the little ones, that it just comes down to what they would personally be interested in, and then finding out if the standby wait is long enough that it would be useful to have a FP+...
I don't know how to put in links, but Mesaboy has a great thread that rates how useful the FP+ are... not based on his preference of attraction, but how useful it is to actually get a FP+ for that one. I find it helpful when looking to see what I may schedule a FP for.
I hope that helps!

Thank you both! Can the 1 yr old ride Dinosaur? I didn't think he could. We will probably do some. M&G but my grandsons aren't into princesses except we think the 3 year old has a crush on Sophia the first . We have an ADR for H&V because of this and the fact they are BIG a Disney JR fans.

My DGS loves dinosaurs so maybe his parents can take him on it and I will wait with the baby.

I have never been to Disney with little ones so this trip is gonna be a blast but I am not fimiliar with all that there is for young children. Is there a playground area in the parks I could take the little one to while their parents ride some rides?

My grandchildren were 3 and 5 when we last went to WDW. The only things the 3 year old clearly remembers (she does remember WDW in general), but she remembers the Magic Carpet Ride and Dumbo (MK) - and the one thing she still talks about that she really loved, was the Dinosaur Dig (AK). I would stay far away from "It's Tough to Be A Bug".

Yes I planned the safari for early morning just forgot to mention it.if we get there at opening what are our chances of getting on it without a. FP? Or should we just go to kiosk first and get one? We have an ADR for lunch at the tusker house at 12:25.

Unfortunately we will be there April 12-18 and FOTLK will be closed.

Although it pains me to give advice to a Steelers Fan, here it goes.

DHS - FP+ for TSM, Star Tours and let the parents use is for TOT. You will not need one for Disney Jr unless you want front and center (which is not a great viewing point)

AK - FP+ for Safari, Mickey's Outpost (M&G), Nemo musical or Everest for the parents - * Note*Dinosaur is loud and scary a definite no in my book. Same thing for Life as a Bug.

At MK I assume they will spend most of their days in Fantasyland.

MK - Day 1 - FP+ for Peter Pan, Elsa/Anna or Cinderella/Rapunzel M&G or Dumbo, Enchanted Tales with Belle
Day 2 - FP+ for Winnie the Pooh, M&G with Mickey, Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Day 3 - FP+ for Barnstormer, Jungle Cruise, & Buzz (or Astro Orbiter)

As long as you are not going on a day were onsite guest have EMH you should be good to go right to Safari without using a FP. There will be some guest who have booked the early morning 9-10 fp+ for this, but I assume most will use it later in the hour to get the most out of the first hour of touring. The time spent at a kiosk will be better spent after the Safari ride. I say that with the caveat that as long as there is nothing that you will be devastated not to get, should it be unavailable in an hours time.

For sure the one year old too small for Dinosaur. It might be a bit scary for the 3 year old. Depends on the kid. My 4 year old son loves dinosaurs and has the movie the ride is based on but it freaked him out a bit

Thank you for the response even though you don't like the fact that I'm a steelers fan!:rotfl2:

You have definately given me alot of suggestions and I am glad you responded and hope it didn't cause you much distress;)

I have a range of ages to schedule so I do a little of both.

In MK for my little guy (3yrs) we have 2 MK days - Peter Pan, ETWB, Dumbo, and the Speedway, because I know he will get a kick out of "driving" with me!! I'm not doing the parade as we will be back for naps/swim then, otherwise I would do those too.

For AK I have safari, Nemo and Kali rapids in the afternoon as I know he is tall enough for that one and it is not a scary ride.

He is too short for BTMR and Splash. By about a half an inch. :headache: so the other kids and my husband will do those (and splash) while we do our milder rides/or naps. I don't mind splitting up though - for us it works.

You have to be 40 inches, so a tall 3 year old might be able to ride. However, my dinosaur-loving DS rode when he was five and thought it was way too scary. My kids loved the dino playground. They could spend all day there and at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at DHS. There've been changes at MK since I had little ones who loved the playgrounds, but I know there's the Dumbo area. My kids loved playing on Tom Sawyer Island when they were feeling overwhelmed by all the excitement and noise. There was also a nice little hidden area for toddlers -- I believe near Splash Mtn bathrooms?

Oh sorry I missed the ages! Most of he rides they will want and be able to do should be relatively easy to do but I'd say definitely Peter Pan, characters, dumbo? Maybe jungle cruise if the park is supposed to be crowded they will probably love it,

Agreed on the scary part. And agreed on the Dino playground. My son, who was 4 at the time, LOVED that area.
