We are going to DL/DCA on July 14th for 2 nights. We haven't been to DL for years so I need your assistance with dinning. Which ones of the restaurants is a must do? We have been to the Blue Boyu (misspelling) and not really impressed with the restaurant. Also I don't want to send an arm and a leg for these restaurants. I want something reasonably priced but not to expensive.

Thanks

Do you have kids? Do you need character meal info or just basic meal info?

If you are looking for quick but good food our favorite place is White Water Snacks in the Grand Californian. If you leave DCA through the Grand's entrance/exit go down the hallway and to the left is where you'll find White Water. They have made to order sandwiches and hotdogs(a HUGE chili cheese dog and fries for under $5) premade sandwiches, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, chips n salsa, pretzels, etc etc. etc. And it's good too!!!

In Disneyland we like Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland, they are a cafeteria style place with choice from mexican and bbq. We like the campfire fries and chicken tortilla soup alot!

Plaza Inn on Main Street has a great(and huge)fried chicken platter and a really big and TASTY Cobb Salad. The pasta was a good size also, but it was bland.

French Market in New Orleans Square right next to Haunted Mansion offeres clam chowder or beef stew in a bread bowl and salads and pasta Plus my favorite Mint Juleps!!! Plus you can sit on the patio and people watch!

Hungry Bear Restaurant next to Splash Mountain and the new Pooh ride in Critter Country, offers burgers and such. I haven't been there in a long time but it used to be really good!!!!

Redd Rocket's Pizza in Tomorrowland right near my beloved and closed Space Mountain is touch and go, I like the pizza salad but the pizza is so so.

I haven't eaten much in DCA but Farmers Market is good and I've heard good things about the mexican food on Pacific Wharf and Chips Dips and Strips on the Pier.

Taste Pilot's Grill right next to Soarin' over California is pretty good for burgers and stuff too, they have a good fixin's bar.

Ariel's Grotto in Paradise Pier is my favorite! I love the Shrimp Cobb Salad and the french onion soup!!! But the fish and chips are great too. This is a character meal but it is much more laid back than Goofy's Kitchen. We had a table on the water and it was so nice!!! They serve lunch and dinner.

In DTD, there is Rainforest Cafe, which can get pricey. We've eaten there a couple of times but last time it was horrible so it's pretty touch and go too.

Catal/Uva bar is great!! They have the best pastrami sandwich at the Uva Bar!!

I haven't eaten at the rest of the DTD restaurants so I can't help with those but I've heard that Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen was really good!

Thanks dsnylndmom for your info. Its only my DH and myself with no kids. This is a free stay for us at the Radisson for 2 nights (I would rather go back to the GC again). Do you remember how much Ariel's Grotto in Paradise Pier? I am thinking about doing PS's there. There has been some new restaurants since we have been there. Thanks for your heads up on the Rainforest Cafe. I know at WDW/AK park the food wasn't that good also and very pricey.

Sure we paid $15.99(I think)for lunch or dinner is $19.99 and it's a set menu, you pick one starter(french onion soup was soo good!) an entree(both the fish and chips and Cobb salad are great) for lunch and get to add on a dessert for dinner. But with either lunch or dinner you get a plateful of cotton candy at the end of your meal We sat out on the pier and it was wonderful!

have fun!
Tina

Thanks again dsnylndmom. Looks like I will be making PS's for Ariel's Grotto sometime after 6/14 (one month prior).

Thanks again for all your GREAT info.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

For us, the Corn Chowder served in a bread bowl from the Boudin Bakery is a MUST. -- If we are hungry and don't want to spend alot to feed our family (DH, myself, 4YO and 2YO) we eat at the Pizza Port. Their pizza is nasty (in my opinion) but they have a Chicken Fetticine Alfredo entree that is very filling and alot of food for the $7.99 cost. We can normally split the dish amonst the 4 of us, but sometimes go back and get a secon. Still though, $20 to STUFF 4 people at DLR isn't bad.

Thanks MateasMom I will keep your suggestion in mind when we pass by there.

I tried the Wine Country Trattoria at DCA for the first time last weekend and will definately go back. They take PS's which is always a plus, you can eat inside or outside, they have soups, salads, sandwiches and pasta and the average price is around $10. They also have an extensive wine list. I had the Italian Meat Lovers Panini sandwich which came with Italian potato salad. It was very filling and very good.
