Ok, here's the deal. DW and I are using the DxDDP and despite my best efforts we will end out trip with 2 DDP credits left over and I can't bare to waste them.

I've squeezed breakfasts in where I could and have all the 2credit meals we could get. I can try to get in another breakfast somewhere, but at the sacrifice of valuable sleep.

Now our bus leaves for the airport at 7am on our last day so I was thinking we could get something boxed up the night before and have it for breakfast at the airport. The question is what do we get and where do we get it?

We are staying at CSR and will be at MK until midnight the night before we leave, so we'll probably have to pick something up at one of those places.

Any suggestions?

Here is our current ADR schedule

I am impressed you are going to eat that much. LOL!

So am I :goodvibes :rotfl:

I am a habitual overeater - I just love food.

I suspect a lot of the time we will be skipping dessert or taking it back to the resort.

Wow, the kitchen sink for just 2 people!
That thing looks huge from what I have seen!! Ive never gotten it, but wow!!

We know we won't finish it by ourselves so we're thinking about offering to share with some nice family that is game.

The Kitchen Sink is worth ordering it even if you can't finish it. It's one of our favorite parts of our trips. We do it every time for lunch one day. We have no trouble finishing it, but that's with me, DH, our 3 kids and grandma and grandpa. It is sooooo good though. I say GO FOR IT!!!!

Grab a pre packaged sandwich, side (chips, fruit, bakery item, etc.) and bottled drink. Store it in your room fridge and it'll be ready to travel with you.

At CBR they also had a cheese/fruit plate that you could get a the entree. There was also pre packaged sushi so that too might be an option, just don't know if you want that for 7am.

If your CS is open earlier than 7am you can also get a hot breakfast for the road. They have nice to go containers. Rember breakfast includes 2 beverage so juice/coffee or some other bottled drink.

OK, I LOVE your planning sheet...Can you share how it's done? Thanks :wave2:

I did a generic 7 day, 4 person one that you can download HERE

Keep in mind the DDP credit counter doesn't differentiate between CS & TS.
Let me know how it works out for you.

a thought on where/how to get that last 2 credis used... how 'bout on one of your early dinner nights you book the 9:30pm HDDR and just go for the drinks/entertainment... tip is included and its a great show!

Hi Matt, awesome spread sheet! I def may have to copy that when the time comes :thumbsup2

As for using the extra credits, i would go to dtd and use them at earl of sandwich! that's what we are doing, we just love it there!

We are also doing the Dxdp. We loved it last year, although were very full. If you don't mind me asking, why did you schedule your meals so close together? and why no (or not many) signature experiences?

Feel free to pm if you have any other dxdp questions :)

i was wondering some of the same thing... on the first full day b'fast at boma at 8:20 will get you to the park no earlier than 10am (and probably later) and then have about an hour of park time before having to head to your noon lunch at Y&Y... get finished there about 1:30ish and need to leave the park by 3:30pm to get to SoA for the 5:15 show (they start promptly, you need time to get out of AK, wait for a bus to the poly, walk thru the poly, check in, get your photo taken, and get seated)... but then you have the entire night from 7pm to relax... that's a lot of food and hustle and bustle w/very little park touring time! (about 3 hours by my calculation!)

A lot of people talk smack about the Dxdp but after doing it I can honestly say it is not as bad as most think. It is our "mid day break" that most take. Only at night lol If done correctly it should not interfere too too much with your park time. But according to his schedule, it seems like eating only. and like you said then lots of free time at night???

Let me help you!

Most meals have at least 5 hours between them which is pretty standard. We're pretty quick eaters and not much for lingering, especially at lunch.

Frankly, I don't have a lot of faith in us making it to most of the breakfasts. They're only on the schedule just in case we get up early. I suppose I could have booked the lunches and dinners later, but noon and 5pm are pretty much the times when I eat normally.

As far as Signature Dining goes, CRT is completely booked both days we are at MK, Hoopdy Doo is too out of the way, I don't think Brown Derby is worth 2 credits and the rest are only open for dinner and our dinner ADRs are either 2 credit meals already or places we missed last year.

We have considered eating at Yachtsmans Steakhouse twice instead of eating at Spoodles, but it all depends on how much we like it when we get there.

Getting some sandwiches at earl of sandwich with our extra credits and putting them in the fridge until we leave does sound like a good idea.

oh, dont' get me wrong, i'm a HUGE fan of DxDDP... did it for ten days in sept/oct (and enjoyed all those snack credits at F&W Fest!!!)... my thing is the timing of all the meals... 3 long meals w/in a 9 hour period... i'd simply space them out more... 8:30 b'fast, preferably in a park... 1 or 2 pm lunch... 7 or 8pm dinner... i also enjoyed the 2 credit meals (we did room service, HDDR, SoA, CRT and Cali Grill)... and threw in a few CS for fun! :)

We also are quick eaters! With that said, the dxdp has a lot more food than the regular ddp or if you were not on a plan at all. So 5 hours for us is def not enough time! Normally we do a big buffet breakfast early, then a big dinner around 5 or 6. Some days we have 3 meals, on those days we are doing a very light breakfast(piece of fruit, cereal bar, etc) just so the kids dont eat eachother:lmao: then an11am lunch and then a 7 pm dinner. Even with all that time between I think we will be full! we only have 2 days like that though. The rest are 2 ts and then 1 ts.The left over credits will go towards Earl of Sandwich! We are driving home so this is a great way for us to use up our credits!

You may want to consider hoopdee doo on one of your slow nights, it really is cute! Also, keep trying for CRT!!

Was just looking at the schedule and Earl of Sandwich might be too early in the week to be buying food for the following Monday.

We will be at the Grand Floridian on Saturday, I think we might pick up some sandwiches at Gasparilla Grill. Anyone eat there? Any good?

don't know about gasparilla's but i had one of the best pre-packaged sandwiches of my life (no exaggeration! LOL!) from the Main St Bakery in MK... and since you will be there your last night, you might want to see if they have any left (it was turkey/brie/craisins/grainy bread)...

Hoopdedoo is well worth the trip over. I would spend some credits there.

I also agree, we did the deluxe and really enjoyed it, but we spread the meals out a bit more. I would say our breakfasts were around 9-930, then lunch around 1 and dinners were around 7is
I would easily do the deluxe again. we stayed at AKV and Bomas breakfast was great, could eat that one everyday...and did!!

I think you should add California Grill one night. Or Flying Fish instead of Citricos.

Maggie
