Need suggestions for a 2 hour wait at MCO

We have a 2 hour wait at the Orlando Airport while waiting to meet relatives coming in on a later flight. Anybody have ideas as to what to do with 2 little boys (8 & 3) at the airport? Watching planes is good for only about 10 minutes!

there is a disney store and an universal store in the main entrance area.....plus many seats in the common areas between A and B....


and a lot of patience....=))

Just what I need. Gift Shops before the gift shops at WDW! Now thsat would take patience!

Anybody else have ideas? How about lunch at the Hyatt at the airport?

Several years ago we saw Mickey and Minnie at the airport. I didn't see them last year so I don't know if they have stopped doing that.

We recently had a 4hr wait at MCO after our Disney Cruise. My DS 8yo and DD 4yo had alot of fun doing the escalator and elevator rides. Just walking around and seeing the stores we had lunch at Chili's too. Don't forget about riding the tram from the satelite gates to the main building. You should be able to kill 2hrs pretty easily. Have fun.

You won't believe how fast those two hours will go with all the things you need to do:

1. From the time your plane hits the runway to when you walk through the gate, could take as much as 15 to 20 minutes depending where your seats on the plane are (disembark - front to rear).

2. Travel time from gate to tram, tram ride to main terminal, and down to baggage claim: another 15 minutes.

3. Waiting and finding your luggage at the carousel: another 15 minutes.

4. Car rental counter: if no line, 5-10 minutes; if line 10-20 minutes.

That's about my average time for MCO and I know that airport pretty well by now. If this is your first trip, add another 10-15 minutes.

If you plan on meeting your relatives at THEIR arrival gate, you need to go back through security (5-10 min), Tram to their gate/hub (5-min), and find their gate (5 min).

That leaves about 30-40 minutes for window shopping and plane watching. Not that bad really.

There is also a SeaWorld store on the way to baggage claim. Although the store itself is relatively small, it has a video board showing stuff from the park and an aquarium with live fish. Trust me, that time will fly by.

It will give you some basic information on each airport and the official airport websites often provide you with a lot of detailed information on what is located at the airport and where.

Once you pickup your luggage from the luggage claim area, if your bags are big, you probably won't be able to take them back through security to ride the trams. You can always split up and do that.

The hyatt hotel is a very nice a relaxing place. You could maybe pick up a couple of toy planes and go upto the 4th floor, where the restaurant and lounges are. There are alot of seats, and very few people there and it is very quiet and the kids can play while you sit in the big sofas.

If you are renting a car, you could go get the car and put your luggage in and then drive the car out of the rental lot and up to regular parking, may cost around 2-4 dollars but will eat alot of time, and then you wouldn't have to lug your baggage around.
