:earsgirl: My Dh and I will be in Disney World Feb.4-11th. We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm looking for somewhere to have our anniversary dinner on Feb. 5th. This will be our 1st anniversary and I want it to be nice. But I have a problem. I am a VERY picky eater. I don't eat ANY fruits or veggies, and the only kind of meat I will eat is like a hamburger or tacos or fried chicken strips. Is there anywhere we can eat for dinner that will be nice? I'm worried that with my eating habits we'll be forced to eat counter service. Thanks for any suggestions.

PS We will not have a car and will be relying on Disney Transport. We do have hoppers so we can go to any park. :cool1:

Well I was going to suggest Jiko or Artist Point when I read the title but I doubt you would find anything you would eat. I would guess that perhaps a character meal where you could eat off the kids buffet would solve your food issue but that would not be very romantic at all - it is not really a place I would want for an anniversary dinner.

Have you checked out all of the menus on allearsnet.com? Do you like steak...maybe Yachtsman Steakhouse? Do you eat desserts? Maybe make a PS for just dessert at a place like California Grill?

I don't want you to feel I am being critical of your eating but what exactly do you eat if you do not eat any fruits, vegetables? Do you eat bread, pasta, chicken, fish? I just can't imagine eating such a limited variety of foods.

I would suggest Concourse Steakhouse if you will eat steak!!! It is fabulous and if you tell them it's your anniversary, they will give you 2 glasses of champagne to toast with!

Congrats on your 1st anniversary....DH and I are celebrating our 1st anniversary in May!!!

Go to allears.net and check out the menu's for all restaurants on property there.....you should be able to find one that has food you will eat....and then again...check it out for what your dh would like to eat and then ask for the children's menu for yourself! Congratulations on your 1st and may you celebrate many, many more!

This is what I was afraid I would have to do. I thought I heard that some places won't allow you to order from the children's menu. Maybe I was wrong. I have looked at the menus from All Ears and I really didn't see much that I would eat. I just want to have a nice meal. Thanks for all you suggestions. Maybe I could try the steak thing.....I just want this trip to be special. Thanks again for all your help!!! :sunny:

I really don't have a lot of variety. Believe me I have tried to eat different things. It's just something about the texture/taste I can't handle and I usually end up sick from it. I really wish I could eat more. And don't worry about being critical, I hear from everyone about how I need to eat more. I'm used to it at this point. :)

Congratulations on your first anniversary

If you like tacos, what about San Angel at Epcot? It is VERY romantic, the water, candlelight, and DELICIOUS! ::yes::

Get a table at Cindy's castle next to the window and watch the fireworks !!!!!

It makes for a really nice night.

With most of the 'adult' resturants, if you call them in advance and explain the situaion I am sure they would work hard to accomadate your needs, so then you can have the best of both worlds.

Not to answer a question that you didn't ask but....

It doesn't sound like eating/dining in general is very important to you. With that said maybe it would be better not to focus on a first anniversary "DINNER". Maybe an Illuminations or a Wishes cruise could be the focus of your anniversary evening. Boat ride/fireworks/champagne can be very romantic and this way even before hand you aren't stressing over it.

We did our First anniversary at WDW in 1991. We ate where the Garden Grill is now (I don't even remember if that was what it was called then but I do remember the spinning). I don't know what we ate and when I think back on the evening what I remember best is playing around the water jumping fountain outside of what used to be the Micheal Jackson movie/show. We did finish a bottle of champagne at dinner and don't usually drink much so......

Whatever you decide, have a great time and Congratulations!!!!

IMO you should speak to your Doctor about your issues with food. I have never hard of this in an adult,(Although I am "just a mom" not a DR so it could be common for all I know - LOL) but many children, my oldest included, have oral sensitivity issues which prevents them from eating many things. For my son many foods make him gag and vomit - some still do but we have comw a LONG way with therapy - something to look in to if you're interested ... :)

Other than that - you can call up ANY restaurant at least 24 hours before your meal and tell them that you have food issues and request that they make you a special meal. If you want chicken strips and french fries while DH eats Filet Mignon - they will do what you want :)
