We are having a Magical Gathering in June for my Grandparents 50th anniversary. They have insisted on paying for everything (we are throwing a HUGE party a couple days before), have already booked the rooms at the ASMu, Poly Luau and dinner at Chef Mickey's.

What can we do for them? I'd like to arrange some kind of suprise while we are there but am clueless as to what. Need some suggestions Please!!

*Edited to add we are going to the MK and AK for sure. Other day is people's choice.

Thanks!!

Using your Grand Gatherings #, you can book a variety of special activities such as the Illuminations Dessert, the Safari Dinner, or Wishes Magical Fireworks Voyage (w/dessert buffet).

Or you could rent your own private boat for a Wishes or Illuminations Cruise. Or, you could look into preparing a vow renewal ceremony for them at GF... that might be kind of sweet! Or if you want something a bit more kitschy, at no-cost and not as dramatic, you could do the re-hitching ceremony at the Garden Grille (at either the ice cream social, or anytime you eat there... assuming it is open when you go... it's closed right now).

Or, you could try to "secretly" upgrade them for a night or the whole stay to a romantic room at a deluxe... this might be tough to pull off though depending on who's name the ressies are in.

I definetly think the Wishes or Illuminations cruise would be perfect. You could also look into making dinner reservations for them at Victoria & Alberts.

Thanks I'll check into those. They have made all the arrangements so I'll have to find a way to get our times and such for dinner to see if we'd be able to make something like that.

How about Bride and Groom ears?

What about Hoop De Doo for everyone? They might get a fuss made over them there, plus I bet they would love the show.

Call the GF bakery and have a mini wedding cake delivered to their dinner (probably chef mickey's) as a nice touch!

I was going to call today and see what Chef Mickey's could do, the mini wedding cake sounds like a great idea, I'll ask about that. Thanks!

I'm making a trip over to DTD on Friday specifically to pick up the bride & groom ears! Great minds think alike....... :)

I can't add another dinner, we are only there 3 days and already have 2 dinners planned. I checked into the fireworks cruises and we have too many people in our party, I know some would be willing to sit out (myself included) but my Grandparents would not like that and since this IS about them ;) (had pictures of me on the beach, drinking Margaritas while the family was all on the cruise.......... :rotfl: )

Keep the suggestions coming! We are going with my parents in July to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. Like you we are blessed with parents who are paying for the whole shebang for all 15 of us!

I love the mini-wedding cake idea and the bride and groom ears! I had read that they have discontinued the "re-hitchin" ceremony at the Garden Grill PLUS they are closed until sumetime in July.
