We are going to wdw in August with 4ds. Our youngest two are 4yo and 16mths. I assume my 4yo will want to walk but wont make it all day in the heat. The 16mth was a premie and tends to be small for his age. He may be small but he is a climber and will most likely climb out of the rental strollers. Do I buy a compact stoller for baby and rent a single for the 4yo? I guess we could even buy a double stroller. I think buying a double is a waste of money because the 4yo walks when we are out on day trips.

Whatever we end up buying has to be small. We have an Expedition and there isn't any cargo space. What is the most compact stroller?

Thanks for any help.

You definately need your own stroller for you baby because of everything you mentioned. My rule of thumb is if the child is under 2 you probably want a regular stroller. The rentals are hard -- no padding. If there are two adults, you could rent a single stroller as needed for your 4yo.

Have you looked at Maclaren strollers? they are umbrella style, some have padding and seat adjustments...much more expensive than the average stroller. I bought one for my third and I LOVE IT. It is compact because of the umbrella style and holds a child up to 55 pounds. This means you'll be able to use it until your 16mo old old enough to want to walk all the time. (My 7 year old can ride in it if she wants.) You'll get a lot of long-term use out of it. Well worth the price.

Oh I didn't mention steering -- one handed. I have a techno classic -- adjustable handles make it great for my DH (over 6 foot) to push. I like it because it has the padded, adjustable seat. DS can nap in it comfortably. :)

I bought mine online. There have been other threads on strollers... which list some other sites. I got mine at albeebaby.com. Previous year's model at greatly reduced prices. They have a specialty baby store in NY city. Customer service was excellent. Other models are even more compact. At one point they had a quest at Target at a good price.

Only downside to this stroller is there is no cupholder. We have a skip-hop duo stroller bag that has a pocket that can hold a drink...but I do miss a cupholder.

You definately have several choices...including renting a double stroller from an orlando company that will deliver to your hotel...that would save you a lot of room in the car!!

You've got plenty of time to sort it all out. I'm sure you'll enjoy your vacation no matter what you decide.

Something like a "Sit and Stand" stroller or the "Joovy Caboose" stroller click here might work for you too. This has a regular seat w/canopy for the infant and a little bench seat and footboard in the back for the older child. I don't have either but I have read some really good reviews of the Joovy stroller.

hth!

I have to agree with the Maclaren strollers. They are the only strollers that hold kids up to 55 pounds. Most other strollers are 35-40 pounds. You will get A LOT of use out of a Mac. I just got mine a month and a half ago and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! It is my 4th stroller (just had a little girl 10 months ago) and I can't believe I lived without a Maclaren this long! It has an OK sized basket underneath, it has a canopy with a window to see your toddler, it also has a pocket on the back of the canopy!, it is one handed steering, it also has one handed folding and folds sooo compact and LIGHT! Yes, it is a downfall that there is no cup holder. I also have the Skip-Hop Diaper bag (Expo model) which is AMAZING. I also got the Maclaren Organizer to hang on the stroller which has two cupholders on it (not great for fountain sodas, but perfect for bottled beverages!)

You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for the suggestions. We are going to check out maclarens, combis and the graco mosaic. I have looked at them online but would rather see them before I decide. Once again thanks for the help.
