Sorry to be so specific - we're traveling with friends that have twin 1yos, one of which has Down Syndrome. They haven't had anyone but family babysit the girls. We're considering an "adult only night", and our friends would feel so much more comfortable if someone could give a review of the Kid's Night Out staff - do any of them have extra training for special needs kids?

(And oh, I forgot to mention, I've got a 4yo and twin 1yos too...)

OP are you onsite or offsite. I have used onsite disney day care at the poly and it was a great experience. If onsite I would call guest service ask about how they work with special needs.

They say on their website they're trained to care for children with special needs. I would go ahead and give them a call. They're great to work with. We are using them in Sept with our 1 year old.

To answer your questions, we're staying on site, but the kids clubs at the deludes only start when the child is potty trained, so that rules out both sets of twins...

I did call them, and we'd need 2 sitters. They did say that they have sitters with extra "training" for special needs kids.

I was also thinking that you'd need two sitters for four 1-year olds and 1 4-year old. Four 1-year olds is a lot of baby!!!!

We used them for our kids last trip. DD was 5 and is typical..DS was

Sorry..DS was 5 and DD was 6..DS has Cp and they had a special needs sitter for us. I took an hour of our paid time and interviewed her..she was amazing. We had a lovely adult dinner. We are using them again this trip. Our kids only have family and one sitter that I have used for 5 years off and on..they are now 7 and 8..we felt very comfortable.

Thank you lisa71! That's a great idea about interviewing them first - I wouldn't have thought of that....

You might ask over on the DISabilities board here at the DIS - someone there might be able to give a recommendation.
