We are going for the second time. The first time was absolutely awesome. It was part of a 2-week Disney trip, and we fell in love with the resort. Since we were there so long (actually split the trip with SSR), we spent a lot of time by the pool, as well as walking back and forth between the hotel and HS/Epcot. I also went running around the water a couple of times.

So, here is my question -------------> What can I do during next week's trip to get even MORE out of the resort?

I am looking for little tips, special spots to hang out, and other things that someone might not have noticed or experienced the first time around.

Thanks!

I havent been to BWV as a guest in many years, i spent some time at the actual BW in 2010, but here are some tips.

If you have a non park day, plan on spending an evening down on the boardwalk, so much to see and if you are a people watcher it is gold. There are street performers, and gorgeous lights. I love it down on the boardwalk itself.

You can also rent The Surrey Bikes by the half hour right on the Boardwalk. The Rental Counter is open from approximately 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

There is a nice relaxing quiet pool, that is nice for a change from the Luna Pool.

Thats about all i got for ya.

go to the bellevue lounge in the late afternoons and listen to an old time radio show and have a drink

- ESPN
- rent games from community hall
- watch free boardwalk entertainers at night
- walk to bridge every night for fireworks
- dueling pianos
- welcome home Wednesday's
- walk to dinner at epcot countries
- swim more
- walk to fantasia at DHS
- Atlantic dance
- do a character dinner at cape may at bcv
- rent one of those 4 seater bikes
- read in the rocking chairs on porch by boardwalk

The Rose Garden on the Inn side is a nice place to hang out for a bit. A Very Quiet pool (generally speaking, I don't think I've seen anyone in the water). Gardens are really nice.

Bellevue room is a great spot to hang out. The bar is too small for the after Illuminations crowd - get their early if you want a spot. But in the afternoons and early evenings, its a really pleasant place.

The porch with the rockers is another good place for hanging out and watching people.

We Love sitting on our balcony and people watching with wine, even better if you have the Boardwalk View! Sitting on the Boardwalk and enjoying a snack or a drink while talking. We really like the Big River Brewery and sitting outside while eating dinner. Dueling Pianos is something we are going to do this year, we hear it's great! If you are into dancing, Atlantic Dance hall is always crowded. We really like taking the boats over to Yacht club to eat and then walking back around the water either direction and maybe popping into World Showcase for Illuminations, or sitting by the pool at night. You really can't go wrong!! Enjoy and I hope the trip is great! :)

Not sure if you have kids but the community center is great and usually pretty quiet. Our family was there in late May early June and they just started movies at the main pool of BWV. I also like to walk over to the Yacht club and look at all the tid bits of "decoration" they have and enjoy the attention to detail.

Others have mentioned hanging out on the boardwalk so that has been covered.

You may want to:

Rent a boat or searaycer from the Yacht Club marina. :thumbsup2
Play a round of miniature golf at the Fantasia course behind S&D resort.
Watch movies on the beach at Beach Club.
Go to a nice dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, or a sundae at Beaches & Cream.

The Swan and Dolphin are often overlooked as places to eat but that is a mistake. The food there is incredible.

On our last visit (which was my youngest two sons' first visit), one of the most fun nights the boys had was at the Community Hall playing ping pong. In fact, on our last day, I was disappointed that they didn't to spend more time at Epcot but it was a great way for my DS18 and DS28 to spend some quality time since they live 3,000 miles away from each other .....sorry for getting off track!

Community Hall - play ping pong, check out movies & books, play board games (only if you are really really bored :rotfl:), play croquet.

Go on a fishing trip.

Night time street performers.

Rent a boat and cruise around the lake.

Take a relaxing walk around the lake & check out neighboring resorts. I've never been inside the Swan/Dolphin but it looks beautiful and would be fun to see the lobby and pool area. Also even if you are on the Dining Plan, plan to check out the restaurants at Swan/Dolphin for a change of scenery. We love walking over to Beach Club to have an ice cream at Beaches & Cream.

Play tennis (but only when it's cool out! I have wanted to do this 3x's now and never did it because the courts are near the entrance and we never see the entrance again until we leave!).

Sitting out in the rocking chairs early in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea is SO relaxing - I also love just sitting on a bench down on the boardwalk and watching boats coming and going early in the morning hearing the boardwalk come to life (and late in the evening after watching both Wishes and Illuminations).
