Need some sympathy...bad week and good week

I'm sorry I just need some sympathy......


Ok in this one week alone I had to take a 6 hour test to get my teaching license which I think I failed (I'm teaching right now, but I have to pass to still be eligible in 2007)

I got scammed on the internet

I got a sinus infection

My great uncle died

And drum roll please....my DF's cousin suddenly announced her engagement (funny since right before New Years she said the she was going to wait another 3 years and she hardly knows this guy) and his Grandma was throwing me a shower this August, well her wedding is going to be in September and she asked when her shower would be....well his grandma said she would do one for both of us on the same day. Let's just say this girl freaked out and went all bridezilla on me! She started screaming "you aren't even family! There is no way I'm sharing my shower especially when my wedding is 4 months before hers!"

To make things worse she is getting an enagement ring just like mine and my DF had it custom made for me with sapphires, diamonds, and platinum. I'm not joking, she's having one made nearly exactly like it, bezel set and all. I almost cried. Her wedding is going to be huge and Michael spent months with the jeweler to make that ring. Couldn't she at least be happy with the huge wedding. Even my DF is really upset. He worked so hard on that ring.


The good new is I just saved a lot of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!....Nah just kidding.


The good news is that we bought into DVC!

I'm sorry that totally sucks. Its a shame that some people are that selfish and just can't have any original thoughts of their own. Just remember that your fiance took time with your ring, so it means something more, that just a copy. And make sure not to tell her anything else about your wedding! Good luck!!!

From now, just keep your wedding plans and ideas to yourself. That way, you won't have to worry about her stealing anything else applying to your wedding.

Were you taking the Praxis test? I am sure you did fine... I worried too, I was afraid I failed. But, when the results came back, the scores were great.

Wow... she sounds like a wacko! Hang in there, it will get better.
Who knows, she might even call off the wedding before the date since she really doesn't even know the guy. It sound like your relationship is the committed one, and she is just doing this to get some attention out of jealously.

I am sorry about the other stuff....it just stinks. I know my MIL2B lost her wedding rings and I am terrified that she will get an emerald cut like mine. This may sound ridicluous, but I hate it when people even buy the same clothes as me. His mom will see my top and go out and buy one....I know they say I should be flattered but not when it is your MIL - I had a high school friend who would call and ask what I was wearing when we went out and I would go to get her and she would be wearing the exact same outfit! I always wanted to die...that is how I feel so I hate it if people purposely get my same stuff....especialy that your DF designed it specially for you- try not to let it take the special away.

Don't let it get to you. I am sure you did great on your tests. I thought I failed mine as well I had to take 2 sets MA and NY). I was so sure of it and so upset I had to stop the car twice on the way home so I could get sick...... I passed. As far as your other wedding disappointments just be happy that you are going to have the wedding of your dreams! Let her have the big fancy wedding. You just have the one you dreamed of...and keep all the details quiet , don't tell her anything! Your ring is the original. It was designed with Love. Think of it as a compliment. Have you ever seen those adds in the newspaper for copies of celebrity engagement rings. Just think it is like that!!!!! Congratulations on the DVC. We have been thinking of doing it for years but now we have to save for college for DDnow. We put it off to long and the window of opportunity has closed for a few years. Someday we will do it. Congratulations again.

It was the Praxis II. I sure hope my results turn out like yours. I have been so worried about it. I definitely don't want to spend the money or the time to take it again, but I hear that many don't pass the first time.

Codie: She is NOT invited to the wedding, however this was decided even before her attitude started. BTW we are very happy about buying into DVC and I think we made the right decision for us. I really look forward to all the Disney vacations and I'm so glad that we have something that our kids can look forward to (That is if we have any)

Thanks everyone for making me feel better. It is so nice to have these boards to turn to when everything is going wrong. I know that you guys are probably the only people that would really understand how awful his counsin's behavior really is. I just really hope that we can just keep our distance from each other. I am taking everyone's advice by not saying a word about the wedding around her. The next worse thing that could happen is her having a Disney Wedding too!

Michael's cousins are very competitive. Now that we have set a date the cousin that copied my ring has decided to get married in September and another one of his cousins is getting married the weekend after us (this was just decided 2 days ago, so add that to the stress) I got a little nervous when she started asking me about Disney Weddings. However, she did say that it would be too much excitement for the family to go to one Disney wedding and turn right around and go to another one the next week. (I hope that she keeps that in mind) This girl isn't as bad as the other cousin but she is just as competitive. It is not in my nature to feel like I've got to keep up with everyone else, but it upsets me when these people feel like they've got to do everything the exact same way and at the exact same time. My mom says that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" but to me it is just plain irritating

I think it's awesome how you're dealing with all of this. Especially after she was a brat about the shower. Unforunately weddings can bring out the worst in some brides-to-be. If anything keep up the great attitude and make her look like even more of a bridezilla.
