My anniversary is coming up and I'd love to make some chocolatey dessert that will wow DH! :) Do you have any suggestions for something that will be perfect?

I haven't tried this one, but thought it sounded really, really good! :teeth:

Chocolate Chimichangas

Spread Nutella on a flour tortilla, then roll chunks of chocolate into it. Seal edges with water like when frying a wonton and deep fry until tortilla is crispy and blistered. Drain; then roll in a cinnamon and sugar mix. Can be served with or without ice cream and you decide on the topping.

But I have to say that my favorite chocolate cake is this one...very dense & moist. I don't know our family friend made it up himself (he was quite the baker) or if he got it somewhere else....we just called it by his name. Oh, understand that the "refrigerate until spreadable" for the icing doesn't mean very long....it can get quite solid (from all the butter) if left too long.

Clyde’s Chocolate Cake
1½ c water
¾ c shortening
¾ c cocoa
3 c flour
3 c sugar
2¼ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 eggs
¾ c sour milk
1½ tsp vanilla
Cook water, shortening & cocoa until butter melts. Add flour, sugar, soda & salt. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs & beat 2 more minutes. Add milk & vanilla; beat 2 minutes. Grease a 13x9 pan & dust with cocoa. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Ice with Cooked Icing recipe.

Cooked Icing
3 Tbl flour
¾ c milk
¾ c butter
¾ c sugar
¾ tsp vanilla
Cook together flour & milk. Stir constantly until thick. Cool. Add butter & beat 4 minutes. Add sugar & beat 4 more minutes. Add vanilla & flour mixture; beat until smooth. Refrigerate until spreadable.

This is one of my favorites. It's rich, delicious and best all- very easy to make.

Chocolate Chocolate Souffles
Recipe Courtesy of Emeril Lagasse

Ingredients
2 teaspoons butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
4 large egg whites
3 large egg yolks
1/4 cup Grand Marnier

Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Butter 4 individual ramekins. Sprinkle each ramekin with 1 teaspoon sugar. In a large metal bowl, set over a pot of simmering water, melt the chocolate, whisking it occasionally. Remove the bowl from the heat. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites with 1/4 cup of the sugar until
stiff and glossy. Whisk the egg yolks into the chocolate one at a time, add the Grand Marnier, and whisk in the remaining sugar. Fold in the egg whites and blend until smooth. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared ramekins. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake until they are puffed and somewhat firm, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve with the chocolate sauce and powdered sugar.

How about a chocolate chocolate souffle. I saw Emeril making these on his show, and they look absolutly yummy.

Mommytotwo-

We had the same thought at the same time. When I started to post my recipe, no one else had posted yet. Great minds think alike!:D
