Need some suggestions - Dogs that don't shed or shed much...

Another vote here for miniture schnauzer, I have one as im asthmatic, excellent breed, doesnt shed and cheap to have clipped.

I can GUARANTEE you DON'T want a BASSETT HOUND!!!!!! We could make 6 little dogs with the amount of hair this dog sheds!!! GREAT personnality..... but more hair than you can possibly imagine!!!!

Well, I'm guessing you wouldn't want my breed(Samoyed) as they do shed(mostly all at once, twice a year when they "blow coat"), but they are the best "family" dog I've ever had!

What ever breed you decide on...PLEASE don't get it from a pet shop. PLEASE do lots of research and find a reputable breeder, someone who carefully choose the parents based on temperament, health and correct breed type(body structure). She(I say she because a lot of breeders are women) will be someone who knows all the health risks for the breed and tests the mother and requires that the father is tested as well. She will ask you more questions than you will ask of her to be sure that she is placing the pup(her baby) with just the right family. She will not allow the pup to go home with you until it is truely old enough. She will make sure that the pup has been well socialized and has experienced many new and different things in it's first few weeks of life. She will want to stay in touch with you as you have just adopted one of her "kids" and she has invested much time, love and yes, money in that little bundle of fur.
